it'd be nice if they changed warfare a little... it makes no sense that it would take you tens or hundreds of years to wage a war that would have normally been over in a few years. That kind of ruins it for me.

It depends if George Bush is involved, he likes to drag things out and ensure the redneck/NRA vote in the next election.. Smile

yea, final frontier seems great... looks much cooler than GalCiv, i think its multiplayer even. im just not sure its as deep as i would like but its a top notch extra.

i tried a custom game with the start era of "future", but right when the game started it says "100 turns left". i know that you can keep going, but i thought this game was buffing the future end somewhat and i had hoped the endgame would be a little farther out.

are any of the scenarios multiplayer? cause it appears that the scenarios are the main draw for the expansion... and i was all for some new scenarios but i didnt want them to be the bulk of the expansion.

are the future tech units like the mechs and that super tank actually in the main game or only in the mod game?

also, i seen the "bug" with the skyscrapers in the middle ages. what happened was my city generated a great person, and i used him to add a building, and he made "Scotland Yard". i thought it was nice so i dont think i would call it a bug.

There's some missing info in this releases nfo. You have to have the latest 1.61 patch installed to install "Beyond the Sword".
Atleast it didn't work for me until I patched to 1.61.

Did you install over Warlords expansion or only Civ4? For me the game itself installed the patch for Warlords.

As for the game, I kind of don't like it that much. It’s just a huge bunch of mods. Normal game only adds some new options to generating maps, spies and new civilizations. Mods are not very polished, with retextured leaderheads that look awful and huge number of units that just confuse everything. A lot of units share same models and textures just adding to confusion.

Couple of the mods could be enjoyable, but most are a mess, that you can easily get for free.

No, I first tried to install it directly unto Civ IV (Civilization.IV-RELOADED). Which didn't work.
I then patched it to 1.61 and after that I could install "Beyond the Sword".

Ah civilitation, the only game ever that i've replayed. And i've done it more than 20 times now. This game is in my personal Hall of fame of games. It's still one of the best games nowadays (and it can be played with a GeForce 2)

This addon looks very interesting. Lets see how deadly that gunpowder is!

A homemade short-film (It's a dramatical experimental videoclip-style short, has nothing to do with games!):

its called a maxi image and SD4hide. Games that update often are a pain in the ass to deal with cracks.

Maybe it's the scotland yard? The building the great spy builds. For some reason they only made modern graphics for that building

The Warlords civs are not included in BTS as far as I know. And what about vassals? Is that Warlords only too?

No, BTS have everything from Warlords except scenarios. So one may play as civilization from Warlords, use great generals, vassals, unique buildings... etc.

what i find disappointing about the expansion is that the main game seems like its not entirely the focus of the expansion. there are added civs, new techs, new and enhanced units, but then units like the mechs as far as i cant tell are not available in the main game.

so there are a bunch of mods included in the game, and to load them you have to boot the main game, then choose the mod and the main game game closes and boots the mod game. this could be avoided by giving us a simple boot window with options.

still its a great game, and its nice to see Civ4, a TBS game, such a huge success when we have Fallout 3 coming with all the controversy about its needing to be a FPS to be a success. its all BS.

well i think that in the content menu there is a scenario/mod option of the mech-mod to use with the main game, it's added like a new tech age following the main game ones.

oh, and for the loading the main game, and after that the mod.. i find it simplier just to load the desired saved game from the save directory Smile
