If you have FFDShow installed check that it has not flipping video - open video decoder config window, scroll down to "output". There is as switch for flipping video.

Lemme guess, it looks something like this right?

There's a number of things you can try to fix it:
-Rebooting...duh
-Reinstalling codecs (as said before)
-Enabling YV12 output in ffdshow, if you are using it.
-Updating Graphics drivers (note: on nVidia 6xxx and 7xxx cards, this problem seems to happen much more often with 9x.xx series drivers than with 84.xx)
-Changing output renderers in your player.
-Updating directx

ok i rebooted Smile didnt work
reinstalled codecs (i have xcodecpackv2) : didnt work
dont use ffdshow
the problem with my graphics driver is that i dont know what card i have. the pc belongs to my dad because i fried my last one. its one of those gmt net pcs. it's not an nvidia or ati card
and i updated directx but that didnt work either.

maybe use or other codecs, if someone can recommend me some?

codec-packs are the devil. But having said that, cccp is the only one i d recommend also.

And zgble, if you dont know what your gfx-card is, check out what the boot-screen tells. usually the gfx-card info is displayed as the first thing on the monitor (some monitors are too slow to be on already at that point though). Or look in the system settings in the hardware manager, the info should be there too. If all else fails, install sisoft's sandra, as that should give you all the info you ever wanted from your system
