 |
I'll be getting a new system soon with a Q6600 intel processor (Which support 64bit, right?)
Anyways, should I get a 64bit OS or should I stick with a 32bit.
I dont know the difference between them and I'm worried that maybe 64bit has compatability issues or something, I dont know...
So what do you guys say?

Well, if it's a new machine, so driver compatibility won't be an issue, so go for the 64bit.

What do you mean about driver compatibility? Like if I had an older driver that doesnt support 64bit?
What about todays games and programs, they all support 64bit now?

And yeah, older drivers would have been just 32bit because there wasn't 64bit OS's then or the manuf. was too lazy to create any when XP 64bit showed it's head. Even more so with Vista though, because it's a Vista requirement for software that it needs to support 32bit and 64bit rather than XP which had 64bit as a bonus feature.
