Apparrently 2K doesn't have a plan in place if somebody needs help with activation when people get passed the 2 time activation. I find this cool. I almost don't want this game to be cracked just to see the backlash in a month after thousands of people can't activate.

Iif it does stop the game from being cracked for quite a while i'm sure it'll be worth it for them.

I agree with you there. But it's the way the game designers made it. I'm playing though one time without changing that stuff. Next time I play though I may change it up a bit :>

a month in added sales, especially the first month makes the biggest difference, so they might even go so far as to remove the copy protection via patch if the sales went well enough and the complaints are loud enough. Other companies have done that too (for example Idsoftware), but it all depends on how much the publisher's managers are money-hungry whores (and thats pretty much the top-entry in the job description of any manager position out there Very Happy)

The reason why they're bothering with such an elaborate protection is because they've actually invested time and money ensuring the PC version is up to scratch. Lets reward them with a boycott, yeah? Thats the perfect way to ensure next time they just make a crap port and focus on the consoles.

ok so normally I'm a dick head, without a care in teh world, but damn, they really gave the little sisters a personality, the way the fall over something and crawl to get away from you is so heart breaking lmao, I had to save the little shit Sad besides, mabye it'll make the game harder, I'll play though it again and kill em all.

actually besides activation which is not letting legitimate customers play the game, there are a bunch of other bugs not allowing people to play the game? Have you read their tech support forum? They don't even have a plan to deal with customers who activated past two times according to their own tech support and apparrently the uninstall trick doesn't work to get an install credit. Reward them? For what? PEOPLE CAN'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME! Why would anybody want to reward a company for selling them a game they cannot play. You're not making any sense.

If it is fake the steam version might come first because of the "change" they made so you can install it on 3+ pc's. However noone knows if they removed the securom protection in the official steam version yet.

don't know what is better, have a good game destroyed with crappy protections or have a port.
with such protection im not buying it, and many others are not buying it as well because of that activation, so they are actually shooting themselves in the leg actually. if they remove it with a patch, them maybe ill buy it, but not in its current state.

<based on the demo>

cool.. but seems really linear.. and seems a bit too hectic...

The hype machine has been doing a good job on it Very Happy

I LOVE the 1950/1960s era everything in it.. great art direction in the game

Pros:
- Nice Gfx
- Really nice atmosphere
- Really nice artwork
- Really nice setting
- Story seems like it could be good

Cons:
- I dont like the pace of the game.. the game world is so nicely made it should be a bit slower.. not just shoot anything that moves
- Seems rather linear so far.... cant see me ever playing this again once i have played it 2 or 3 times (and i dont know how this game could be modded into anything else)
- The widescreen problem

Dont get me wrong.. this is a 90 game.. but if reviewers are saying this is a 100 game... then we are in trouble.... it seems nice.. but not THAT nice
</based on the demo>

remember THATS JUST FOR THE DEMO.. i may have a 100% diff outlook on the full game

The full game is a little less linear, you can come back to previous levels later on in the game, and you might encounter some random enemies in rooms that you previously cleaned, so it never gets empty forever. However the problem is that there isn't much of a purpose to actually come back on your tracks, other than just not completing the game voluntarily just for the kicks of killing random enemies.

If the developers had that much faith in their overly complicated protection they prolly woulda released it on the same day everywhere. The fact that they are releasing it two days later in the european markets may mean they want to get a coupla days selling it in amerika plus maybe one in europe b4 a european cracker torpedos their big score

unless it has something to do with vac or a critical global update, they should just stick to monthly updates or some shit

Thats a very one-dimensional look at things. Obviously if we state why we are frustrated companies will be forced to drop such orwellian protection schemes. It seemed to work with starforce, eh?

If we don't complain then who knows, maybe they will stick to it and even make it so that one use per user. How fair is that when console gamers get to sell their games for almost half the value and ensure that more ppl play the game by purchasing it at a lower cost? I have bought alot of classic pc games on ebay because you can't find them anywhere else. This protection basically screws that option.
