Some SF3 games don't really work with the vIDE. This is due to how aggressive the checks were back then (they did some pretty funky low level shit). The virtual IDE drive mainly is for the games that use the SCSI blacklisting, and not the super low level checks like SF used to use.. |

seeing as you probably did, i was laughing at vide because that was its whole draw in. to play those games, but theyre all cracked already. |

omg guys you are idiots. Do you think those who buy music, games, programs and movies never heard about torrent or usenet or ftp? They could download what they want in a few minutes/hours for free but they pay for it. Some people just feel they should donate/buy if the program deserves it.
Most of you use DT every day. It saves you like hundreds of $ but some of you come back here again and again to say that people who donate/register and make free version possible are stupid

Does DT work for you? Do you use it? You didnt uninstall it because you need it?

I first got the "application corrupted" error, then reinstalled it and it asked for activation after the crack was applied.

i just installed it ,then moved the patch to the install dir and applied it and it works like a charm

Found the problem. The crack was made with an english Windows in mind. It copies the registration data to "C:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\DAEMON Tools Pro" (or in my case "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Application Data\DAEMON Tools Pro").
The problem is the "Application Data" folder. My german Windows uses a folder called "Anwendugsdaten". I moved the "DAEMON Tools Pro" folder from "Application Data" to "Anwendungsdaten" and now it works.

Yes, the crack is bad coded. The author should ask Windows where the AppData folder is.

Well, I tried DT Pro build 218+vIDE+mini image for Test Drive Unlimited (v1.66A) and I got "conflict with emulation software"
So I still have to use YASU.
Using YASU defeats the main purpose of vIDE, which is bypassing versions of Securom and Starforce that search for IDE drives and want to use them only, because YASU also masks those (example Hitman Blood Money v1.2)
EDIT: In other words, why the fuck would someone need vIDE as it is now ?
