man they are messed up...so last few days (a week and a half) my sleeping pattern do to work and shit has been REALLY messed up.. i sleep 2 hours, get up for no reason, stay up for 5 hours, sleep for 2 more and shit, meanwhile i am always tired... before this i would get an EASY 10-12 hours of sleep every night...
so last night before bed i took a sleeping pill... i slept 10 hours alright, but then i woke up, had breakfast and passed out again for another few hours... now i am sitting infront of tons of paper work and i am falling asleep again...
this is messed up.

I hate sleeping pills ... they don't really make me tired ... really just leave me feeling fucked up. I have only tried the OTC pills like nytol, nothing prescription...

i NEVER take OTC medication for pain or anything.. EVER... coffee, i take 2 pills of it before gym...

A week taking benzodiazepines always helped me out. You will have a short sleep about 6 hours and will wake up on your own after this specific period. In the morning you'll feel a bit dizzy and easily get confused but calm down after some 45 minutes. But you have to be really careful and don't do a period longer than 2 weeks otherwise chance is high to become addicted.

Finally a topic where I can be of some use to someone.
Here's the summary of sleep meds, what helps, what doesn't, and what to avoid like a bad 80s horror movie. All of these are from my experience or knowledge.
Avoid:
Caffeine, cocaine, taurine, anything with guarana or lots of sugar, and stimulants in general, for at least 5 hours before bed (i.e. no more coffee after 7 pm)
Here's what I've tried, and the results:
Diphenhydramine: I tried it in the form of Benadryl pills, breath patches, and store-brand pills. Works like shit for me. Makes you feel fucked up, requires 5x + the recommended dose (for me, 250mg+) to have any effect, and gives you bad hangovers (light headache and drowsiness throughout the day)
Doxylamine Succinate (i.e. Unisom): Best results personally for me. 1.5 pills (75mg) takes 20-30 minutes to kick in, makes your head and eyelids feel quite heavy, and you pass out minutes after hitting the pillow. This + an episode of [insert tv show] usually puts me to bed when needed.
Ramelteon (i.e. Rozerem): Relatively new sleep aid, supposedly helps you get to sleep naturally by activating the same receptors milk does. Never worked for me, I've tried doses of up to 3 at a time.
Diazepam (i.e. Valium): I tried these, they work, but I stopped using them and switched to Unisom after a week because they do cause dependency, and tolerance builds relatively quickly. Use with caution.
Sex: Works, whether with someone or with yourself. One of the better ways to help you fall asleep, but not as effective as some meds.
Milk: 2 glasses of warm milk a half hour before bedtime. Never tried this, but I'd imagine the effects are not very pronounced unless you fast and/or have very light insomnia.
Grass: Definitely very effective. Smoking a good dose will enable you to fall asleep almost immediately, as the body high imitates hypnogogic hallucinations and tells your body you're falling asleep. A milder dose smoked ~3 hours before sleep will make you naturally tired, and is pretty fun, so that'd be my recommendation.
This list isn't nearly complete, but these are the things I personally have tried. FYI, I've been a chronic and heavy insomniac for about 4+ years now, so your mileage, and dosage, may vary.

LoL! take 5 extra strench advils or tylenols, drink them down with a redbull, you'll be sleeping in 20 minutes and you wake up refreshed. Or you can do it with mt dew works too
