I dont think theres any doubt that they(2k) will change the protection eventually (the number of installs etc..) and this is easily applied over steam.

Same as I didnt doubt some faceless pizza faced 4000+ Post geek on nForce with no friends to post a thread saying "LOL, you cheap fuck"

i just copied the Bioshock folder to my laptop (so i didn't even install it correctly), removed lan cable, copied cracked dll & exe into the games folder, imported reg and ran it. np Wink

Yeah it works past the demo "end-spot"
Just played through that spot and no crashes or so yet Smile

I simply installed the OHW release with the mini-image mounted, it updated and completed the install of the game then i just followed the instructions provided with the crack from DarkCoder

YES! FFS IT WORKS!!!
Confirmed with: Clean OHW install + maxi-image using DT with 2 drives.
After that crack applied.
Runs like a charm.

I was never going to buy this baby but i couldnt hold out much longer Smile

Wow, my deepest respect and thanks to this "Darkcoder" guy - I didnt expect that so soon.
Cracks works perfect for me so far. LOL, hard to believe, but Bioshock is now even running on good old Windows2000 (without internet connection or installer download, simply copy the installation folder after install is complete) - impressive for a "next generation" game.

But if you wanna buy the game or not - the most important success is the demonstration to the companies that this online activation and DRM crap with limited installations is not protecting their games from being cracked and pirated. So hopefully not too many other companies will try to copy the 2k way now. The best protection is creating a good game, see "Oblivion" - a fine game and no protection and it was a success. I am sure "Bioshock" will become a commercial success now nevertheless (maybe even more now, because poeople dont have to be afraid about the weird protection any longer, lol...) Laughing

One question : it's possible now that someone could make a custom install, that bypass the patch download at the end, apply the exe, ddl and reg too and just "push" exe to play? The same as Lost Planet Steam rip.

Same for me - you other guys also have this problem?

Wasn't there a hack for the demo to play it on hard? Or am I mixing this up with the xbox version?

was just locked in the gameplay options menu before starting the new game. Guess this was the too-good-to-be-true reflex Wink

woohoo I can get past the loading screen after the "demo part" by lowering the graphic settings (and resetting them back to max afterwards)

For those asking if the game works after the demo/first part, this crack works fine

I just passed the whole demo level and loaded fine into the next level.

Heres are some screens, no prev. save file used.

Method:
OHW clean install whit Skulp Minimage
After error copied the folder to another location
Copy/paste the cracked files, run the reg file
Done

1.Mount/Burn
2.Install
3.Wait until BS will download some files from the Inet and the error message popups
4.Copy or move the whole BS-Folder to a second place
5.Click on the error message
6.Put "paul.dll" & "Boishock.exe" in your install folder. ..\copydir\Builds\Release
7.Run secu.eg.reg
