installing lolcats proper on another machine right now. should know in a few minutes if it works without any additional steps... maybe... its a pretty old machine, i hope its powerful enough to even start the game  |

weeeeeeellllllll as i figured, my old pc wasnt even remotely up to teh challenge of playing the game... anyone wants to see what this game looks like on a 4 year old 3.06ghz pc with a 4x agp card? step right this way...:

anyway, yes the lolcats proper works... i dont know if the original lolcats version had problems, but i could install and start the lolcats proper without any problems... i had that startup error that someone reported, but you have to run that VS Redist thing like the nfo says, and that'll fix the problem, so yeah, as far as i know, the game will install fine without any folder copying authentication or mini-image loading crap.

I HAVE QUESTIONS
the lolcats release... the bioshock.exe that the release uses... is it an untouched exe or a cracked one? when updates roll around, will they be able to install, or will the exe cause a problem... is it even POSSIBLE to get an untouched exe, or will these releases NEVER be updatable?
also, my menu had NO mouse pointer when i installed it on my old machine... took me 1-2 minutes to do anything in the freakin menu, hehe, i assume this is because of problems with my grossly inferior graphics card in the other machine (see above screenshot) - has anyone had any crashes/problems with graphics using JUST the lolcats release without using the IND crack? more to the point, why has anyone felt the need to use the IND crack when the standard lolcats install seems to work just fine... leo, lookin at you dude...

just for some extra confirmation, I have nothing to do with securom on my pc ... just a clean install of lolcats and vc_redist and it works perfectly, no crashes or anything.

I've been asking this very same question since page 12, and alas, no one has answered me yet. Can some kind person please confirm if the LOLCATS release also contains the original bioshock.exe, so we can apply future updates?

I think that only paul.dll is cracked so who knows..baaa good its playable
Look for Studio HiCZoK movies and arts !

actually i own a x800 xt and was going to upgrade my vid card also until i did extensive research on shader 2.0 support. this

Thats right LeoNatan. They made a hack where 2.0 cards will run Bioshock. Not perfect, but playable.
I dont want to upgrade to new card cause my pc only takes AGP. I need to build a entire new pc. I was planning on doing that. Now, Im going to have to do that sooner. This is just temporary for this game. I can play all other games fine...No issues. THere was this other game that required 3.0 came out few months ago - forgot name. So, 2 out of everything else aint too bad. But, by beginning of next year - I wont have this prob.

The game won't launch on my comp.
The Bioshock logo shows up on the desktop but then it is stuck and Bioshock.exe is not responding ...
Did you guys experience the same ?
Actually some guys with an Asus G1s (like me) face the same issue --> http://forums.gametrailers.com/showthread.php?t=155053&page=3
PS : I managed to launch and play the game once (yesterday after setup) but now it is impossible ...

yes.
some non-scene releases might show up on torrents without anyone expecting them.
but a scene release appearing on torrents without anyone knowing about it is pretty much impossible. if a scene release was out everyone would know it before it even came to P2P stuff

Solved my problems.. the new ati drivers, and cleaning the damned dust out ogf my video card worked wonders! The ati 1950 has these channels for air flow, and a few of them had actually gotten clogged by dust!
I cleaned it out, and video card tempo went from 110 down to 74!
Now Bioshock runs fine on my dual core ati 1950 pro system
