To enable the service: Start Menu -> run - > “services. msc”
The name of the service is “ Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)”
To start it, right click on the service name and click “Start” in the menu. Then proceed to install the game normally.
If you are unable to start the “Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)”, ensure these services which it depends on are started, checking in this order:
- Remote Procedure Call (RPC) (The next two depend on this service)
- Network Connections
- Windows Management Instrumentation

NoFace, see if the Windows Firewall is enabled. You can't install MOHA if it's not enabled.
Quote: |
- Click Start and click Control Panel.
- Click the Security option.
- Click Windows Firewall.
- The Windows Firewall should be listed as “on”. If not, click Change Settings.
- Click On (recommended).
- Click OK.

It's not exactly the same engine. BioShock's is very heavily modified UE2.5 (the one they used for Tribes V. and Swat 4), with some of the components (like the rendering engine) replaced with UE3's.
Have you tried the 163 drivers?

Nah, like I said in a previous post, some 7900 owners have slowdowns for some reason.

Here's another fix for the rollback problem, works on all 64bit versions of windows,
For all users stuck with windows xp professional 64bit or Vista 64bit, try my masterful fix and solve this fucking rollback crap. Things you will need to begin with,
http://www.vmware.com/products/ws/
Download an evaluation copy of Vmware Workstation, mount a windows xp professional 32bit iso you download from usenet or wherever. Install windows xp professional 32bit on that vm machine. Make sure to set the drive to autogrow, so you can install large shit(like medal of honor).
Now also get this file, and install it,
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=90548130-4468-4bbc-9673-d6acabd5d13b
Then once you installed windows xp on your virtual machine just mount the mdf from medal of honor by going to the top menu, selecting VM then REMOVABLE DEVICES, then go to CDROM and click on EDIT(make sure you have the mdf mounted on your own machine as well ofcourse), so when on the EDIT screen in vmware make sure the top two boxes are checked, and select USE PHYSICAL DRIVE and point it to your mounted shit. Now you'll see the medal of honor startup screen. Just install the game now on your virtual machine and let it finish, it should give you no problems whatsoever.
Now comes the tricky part, getting the stuff from the virtual machine to your own machine, to do this go to VM on the top menu, then go to SETTINGS, click the OPTIONS tab, there click on SHARED FOLDERS, click ADD to make a new shared folder, give it a name, click BROWSE and browse for the folder you want shared on your own machine, click NEXT, and FINISH, and then OK. Ok now you'r back on the virtual machine desktop. Now open windows explorer in your virtual machine. Now go to ENTIRE NETWORK and you'll notice that there is a new folder there called VMWARE SHARED FOLDERS, click that, it will open up a subfolder called .HOST, now click .HOST(takes a while so let it do its work), then finally a directory called SHARED FOLDERS opens, doubleclick that and move your entire installdirectory from your virtualmachine to your own HOST MACHINE(that is your 64bit windows on which you keep getting these rollback shit).
Now last but not least, making it work on windows 64bit systems, once all files are transferred from your virtual machine, just power down the virtual machine as you don't need it anymore. Now just install medal of honor on your own 64bit machine, and let it get as far as it can, when its about to roll back shit(just wait till the install bar is at 90% or something), then hit the reset button on your comp. That way you'll know the game has made the registry keys for the game serial etc. After that just delete that buggy install you just ran, and drag all good files from your virtual machine(you copied from that shared folder), to your install dir. And voila, you can now play the game.

It may state that it's unsupported, but it installs and plays fine in 64-bit Vista.

By editing file MOHASettings.ini. In Vista its in the "C:\Users\*username*\Documents\EA Games\Medal of Honor Airborne(tm)\Config" folder.

Works fine on a 8800, had my first slowdown on my first mission as I was making a landing, tons of smoke, shots fired, when I landed and started playing it kinda disappeared.
It's a nice game, but first time I tried it I was like tired and everything moved so fast I was like OK not right now....zzzzzZZzZZ
P.S, when you say you have to have Win Firewall enabled you mean Vista right? cuz mine wasn't enabled (XP.)
Blame! don't act!

Might be something running in the background that is sucking juice from your CPU/RAM

I am not a retard who unrars, watches 10 movies and tries to play a game at the same time. My CPU Meter shows like 1% CPU usage in windows usually and 20% RAM.
I just freshly installed Vista yesterday.

Got Vista 32bit, GeForce 7900GTX 512 & 2 gigs of ram. Running nvidia's beta drivers 163.44 and applied the hotfix for vista.
The game works great at first, but after about 5-10 mins it freezes for 10-20 secs, the screen goes dark and then the game resumes, but with EXTREMELY low frame rates - I'm talkin' 10-15! Then, I must quit to windows and restart the game since it’s unplayable at this rate.
I also noticed that when I quit to windows, there's this little icon on the system tray with a yellow triangle and an exclamation mark in it. If I try to click it, it’ll disappear.
Any ideas?? (And for those of you who immediately assume that this is a overheating issue - It's not. It also never happens on any other game including BIOSHOCK).

I can give you an INI file I made for my laptop. It drastically improved the performance on my laptop, but it is designed for a small screen.

its still running very crappy on my system... first mission was also laggy but playable.. now 2nd mission when i drop from the sky i really get low FPS... and i cannot believe my system cannot run this game... i have C2D E6400 @ 2.6 ghz 2gig ddr and 7900GTO.. i tried disable OC, i took my X-fi soundcard out.. nothing is making difference.. also on medium setting its running SHIT.
And also before i was running my pc @ 400FSB (3.2ghz) no problemo with bioshock but this game just freezes then.. i hate it its not funny playable like this.. i run @ 1440x900...
and my friend same sys.. with x1950pro is running fine.. no slowdowns.. :s
*edit* omg and mission 3 is WAYYYYYYY LAGG... damn i think in the air my fps drops below 10.. i found out it looks like some memory leak.. because when i press alt tab and go back i have fast gameplay for a couple of seconds..
