Microsoft has announced that XBOX Live will be down for maintenance 10th September (today).

at GAMESPOT you can get an activation code to download the beta from xbl, withn 5 minutes after registration you can start your download :d

Awesome game, you'll all love it, too bad we're stuck at a level 16 cap for now.. 
There wasn't much to test between 11 (the old cap) and 16, so hopefully they raise it again soon.

Known problem, been around forever...
Only thing you can do is let it go, once mine literally took about 15 minutes. I don't get it too much anymore. |

A friend of mine tried 5 min after me, and got the same message. Think i was _VERY_ lucky about that key at gamespot. Got it instantly :\ Didn't even have to wait for a mail. (even tho the key got mailed too)
Sad EG use so much time to send out the tokens... :\

what's the point... you'll need to have even more luck to get passed the "downloading game settings" bug 
I've tried over and over again, no luck... I even left it to try login while I was at work... 10 hours later, still same shit  |

lol n00b, you just need to restart the game or your 360 and it will work again. I had this bug 1 time before and just checked there forums to see what to do. |

I have a CoD 4 beta key from GameSpot that I don't use.
I can exchange it with an account on a good torrent-tracker like SceneTorrents. (don't care about ratio)
I've already one account at TorrentBytes.net

Ygh... Been playin the beta since it started and I gotta say that it gets a little boring because of the lvl cap and stupid things like you can't equipa silencer and a red dot sight on your m4 at the same time...

well i've played it for a while and first impressions are favourable. had a bit of lag when the helicopter comes overhead and the people playing on there are like professional gamers or something or I suck big time (probably that one actually). not too dis-similar to COD2, which was great online before Gears came along and stole me away.
No advertising.
