My 5 cents on the gaming future.. 
 Spoiler: | Now the PC games need 10 patches before playable, that was not the case some years ago. I think the consoles will be stronger and stronger, with lower prices and people playing in the livingroom with sharp 1080i on a 47´ HDTV. |

No and never will. Don't judge it's future from shitty EA/UBI ports. If PC gaming dies, console will get more expensive. The gfx cards people are running in their PC's are the companies that make them for consoles. So once those gfx cards stop selling, ATI/nVidia etc will start charging more for companies that make the consoles. |

A whole 360 cost less or equal to a graphic card for the PC. The graphic card prices are ridicoluos for the PC.
But i hope u are right, i like playing games with keyboard and mouse.. |

If you planning on buying the NHL 08 and have both PC and 360, buy the 360 version.

I was expecting something bad, but not that bad. With 07, the gameplay changed quite a bit vs 06, but with 08, EVERYTHING is the same.. very very few tweak, same game, same animation, nothing at all have changed.. There is basically nothing added to the PC version.. All feature "announced" aren't there. Still no fucking WS support... It's terrible paying for a product like that.

I just started a season on easy and was the Minnesota Wild. After 2 periods against the Bruins I was winning 10 - 0. I had to start my season over on medium! LOL!
So far so good, the animation is lacking but I am scoring some cool goals. I expect more in 2007.

I don't know what the hell they were thinking when they put the Pass/Pull Goalie on the same button configuration. I don't know how many times I went back into the defensive zone and find my Goalie has been pulled. Do they really think pulling the goalie happens that often that we have to have a button bound for it. I got so frustrated after 30min that I can't even give the game a chance to grow on me. It is really disappointing, I am a huge hockey fan and have always received some enjoyment out of the new NHL XX series. Looks like this is it until someone comes out with a modifier or something to fix it.

That happened to me about 15 times in one game! I won 10 - 6 and they scored 4 open net goals because my goal tender would all the sudden be gone! I looked in the custom settings and couldn't find out how to change it from the stick/press control stick to a button I don't use. Anyone know how to do that so your goalie doesn't skate for the bench?

Ya, from playing around with the control config there is no way of separating the Pass/Pull Goalie. I hope EA patches it or someone comes up with a solution. I use a Saitek P880 and I guess it could be that a button is sticking a little causing the issue but I really doubt it. Looks as if you hold the button for more than 1/2 a sec it pulls him.

euh.. there is no Fantasy draft in the dynasty ? Talk about a simple addon they could make (it was there before 06 !)
So finally... is there anything on the "feature list" that is added or it's all about false advertisement?
The goalies are better. defense too, offensive wise they are as bad as 07.

I don't get it, I can't see anything about pull goalie button in the controller setup page. There is only a control goalie thing, same button as change player, which you need to hold for a couple of seconds to get control of the goalie. I've never had the goalie pulled in a game I've played, and I have played about 8 games now.

I have a P880 too.. No problem but all the button are badly identified.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 are:
1 3 4 2 7 8 5 6 in the game
Also, if you setup your controller in the setting, then go in a game mode (Dynasty or other) you have to resetup it in this game mode.
And I remove what I said.. Fantasy draft is in Dynasty mode... But game is still too easy. AI aren't creative at all on the offensive. Defence wise, they are better.

Is this some kind of joke?! EA, WTF, That's IT! I have stopped playing NHL08 because I cannot play without my goalie leaving the net on an average of 10 times per game. Every time I accidentally press the control stick down with my thumb while I am playing the goalie goes on vacation. I cannot believe they did not fix that in this patch. Typical EA shit! Customer problems fall on deaf ears. I guess I will have to wait until patch #5 to get this fixed.

i was having the same problem until i used my gamepad profile editor software (Saitek), created a profile for NHL 08 and remapped button 10 on the gamepad to something else...i wasnt going to wait for the losers at EA to fix this if ever...

to anyone that has bought the game, does the game manual describe how to use the hybrid controls (i.e. still stick)...i can't quite figure it out

Is this some kind of joke?! EA, WTF, That's IT! I have stopped playing NHL08 because I cannot play without my goalie leaving the net on an average of 10 times per game. Every time I accidentally press the control stick down with my thumb while I am playing the goalie goes on vacation. I cannot believe they did not fix that in this patch. Typical EA shit! Customer problems fall on deaf ears. I guess I will have to wait until patch #5 to get this fixed.

Nice, that's a great idea. I may have to pick up that stick. I am using an original XBOX controller that I modded to USB and then installed the XBCD 1.07 driver. So I cannot change anything unless the game let's me. Oh well, looks like it's either a new stick or wait for NHL 09. Sucks!

At the start I used the configurations that was set from the start, changing player was on the same button as shooting. Everytime I changed the player he shot away the puck right away.
