Reloaded Studios Chooses CryENGINE 2
“Our technology team carefully reviewed and analyzed both the features and limitations of all of the major game engines and middleware solutions which are currently available to license, before making our choice.” says Ki-Yong Cho, Chief Executive Officer of Reloaded Studios. “No other engine came close to offering the dynamic features, developer friendly tools, or provided anything near the visual quality of the CryENGINE 2. We felt it was extremely important when our game is eventually released that it will still be able to stand apart from all other titles, either currently existing or presently in development, in what is now already a very competitive market. We felt only the CryENGINE 2 could support the dynamic content and massive landscapes we intend to build, let alone do justice to the unique art style we plan on bringing to our MMO. Licensing the CryENGINE 2 was an obvious and unanimous choice.”...

if they let the mp beta for free then they would make no $$$$ income before release , its all about money , i guess they just wanted to pump somehting out to see what revenue it brings in before the actual full game |
And who will pay for servers? You ? Do you have any idea how many people wanna try this game? 1 mill atleast. So you get 1m people trying to download game and then go online. Think little outside youre box. Btw i dont think Fileplanet is paying Crytek for anything. I guess you didnt see what happend when Quake wars beta was launched. We managed to crash FP serv with reloading. When people actually got the beta key, download speed for game was like 10kbs, and when you installed it and tryed playing all servs were full. -_-

dx9 MP vs dx10 MP
As for the DX9 version we won’t have physics and day and night cycle in-game. That means you won’t be able to shoot down trees and/or alter any other objects than vehicles on the map. Additionally the time of day setting doesn’t change dynamically. This is caused due to the tremendous server load such physics might cause on crowded gaming servers. Still you will be able to experience maps with different time of day settings since the maps can be altered in the Sandbox2 Editor.
Rather than providing the community partially working features we limit this for the DX10 version only. Due to the strong hardware available with DX10, server load is less and performance is increased. This ensures the pure physics and day and night cycle experience without any limitation.
Gamers with a DX10 card are able to play on DX9 servers, but with the limitation of the respective server. Vice versa it is not possible for gamers with DX9 cards to play on DX10 servers due to the limited features.
too bad for you dx9 ppl

you might think that more people = more bug finding but that's not necessarily the case.
just imagine a no-limit open beta of crysis.
everyone would go and get it, then about 200 thousand idiots would have some weird problems with the game and spam the forums with useless crap and it would be impossible to filter out the important stuff. if you only have a few thousand beta testers it's a much more controlled environment and that is what they need to test what they want to test.
it's absolutely normal.

don't hold your breath. I seriously doubt it's even possible to *crack* this.
I can't think of any game where an online key protection was cracked, other than using a cracked server which is useless here as far as I know as players can't create their own servers I think.
I mean.. sure, it's most likely possible to get the game to show you the main menu, but playing without a legit key? it won't happen.

This has various reasons and is the easiest way to have an updated game version available for the second batch of keys that is going to be sent out quite soon. Further below you can see the list of bug fixes and optimizations that are included.
Patch #1 change log:
- Adjusted automatic graphic cards recognition.
- Fixed: Ingame settings show up correct selections.
- Fixed: Online access blocked by selecting auto login and remember password in online account info settings, then signing out while on the main menu.
- Fixed: Emitters that were hidden before deactivating were never removed.
- Fixed: "Weapon killed by" icon for the MOAC is an incorrect weapon icon.
- Fixed: If player exits a vehicle while it is moving up or down a hill or is in the air, player will sometimes lose collision with the map.
- Fixed: Inconsistent amounts of damage from vehicle-vehicle collisions (stops them exploding quite so easily).
- Fixed: Server graphical settings carry over through the game and set themselves on all clients' computers, irregardless of the settings each client has set for themselves.
- Fixed: Graphical settings carry over through the game and set themselves on all clients' computers, irregardless of the settings each client has set for themselves.
- Asynchronous shader compiling defaulted to 1
Explanation: We implemented an incomplete shader cache to figure out where the shader compilation issues are appearing the most. This way we can address them and fix them, but for that we would require your support. When joining a game for the first time you will encounter uncompiled shaders to appear as yellow replace-me textures. In addition to that you see a small teapot in the left upper corner of your screen. This symbol shows that shaders are currently compiling.

you should also list quake because its the greatest game ever f**king made... its mankinds one single redeeming feature, and possibly the only thing that can balance the creation of paris hilton and uwe boll...
(i see youve listed quake games, but quake should be listed by itself... and in red... and in bold...)

I hope it's properly mod'able so we'll see a lot of mods, half-life style, that will keep this game interesting for years.
the great graphics will only keep you interested for so long.
