R.I.P colin.

I'd imagine his naming rights would fall to his wife or whatever through the will, so there could be more colin mcrae games.

i would imagine that his wife could stop them using the name if she wished, unless there was a contract entitling them to the name for X number of releases or years (which i imagine is the case unless ea are complete morons - which i dont think they are, they just have a shitty work ethic)

Because he was an inspiration to many people and probably the greatest Rally driver in the world, what´s wrong with you man? The guy died, why wouldn´t we care?

Weird. Same thing happened with R. Burns. And he also had a game with his name. Confused
We'll probably see a "Marcus Grönholm - Snow" in near future... Razz

Sports victories is not an achievement. Its nothing, pointless and useless.

anything that someone strives for and succeeds at, especially when its something thats not easy, is most definately an achievement. something doesnt have to have great merit in YOUR eyes for it to be one.

You really think that sports achievement mean anything? If they do mean a lot to you i can only feel sad for you. Any sport in this time and age is about money nothing else. All people who are in sports earn insane amounts of money of people sitting home and watching them on TV. People who actually create, invent or produce things for other people are achievers. They work whole life for other people and earn little money so you and we can eat,drink.live. People that drive cars, run with ball or jump in air and earn millions of dollars every year are nothing to me.

Take that shit somewhere else, your basically saying anyone with more talent then you, who has worked their ass off for the majority of their life mastering their skill/craft is nothing extraordinary.

Also your perspective is ridiculously skewed, primarily because your looking at things from a monetary value stand-point. Yes, they are partly entertainers, that's what the vast majority of sports represent, entertainment. But do you think the average Basketball player who started playing at 8 years old aspires to be in the NBA to entertain people?

It sounds to me like you work a 9-5 sitting on your ass all day and see someone making more cash then you on TV and blow a load about it. (Sorry If I'm assuming)

Anyway, Colin IS a man of incredible talent, so much so you could never possible comprehend. He's done so much for motor sports in general that classifying him a "Sports Achiever" rather then a "Inventor" or anything else beyond the realm of just viewing his accomplishments as solely "Sports" related is ridiculous.

I'm not even going to continue whatever, some of the most close minded people on the planet thrive on this forum.

Here's some cool videos of Colin in the X Games vs Travis Pastrana: (Watch Travis' First!)

In the end what is important is that he was a nice guy, not some egomaniac like Shumacher, Alonso or Hamilton.

Ok few reality checks. First thing: I dont watch Tv. I have much bettar things in my life to do then watch some crap on tv of 20 morons running over a ball. Rolling Eyes
Second thing: My work involves me moving whole day aka 8h on my feet. Rolling Eyes
Close minded people are those who sit at home and watch sports and drink beer. Thats close minded pearson. If you dont realize that then you should really look around you. Who works their ass of? What are you talking about? Only sport where you need to train is Marathon.Rest are few h a day on court/gym and thats that. If you wanna see real "working youre ass off" try mining for 10h a day, or try working on oil platform. You sound like kid in his la la land unaware or RL. Tell me how much was payed for Beckham to come to america? That money could have gone to so much bettar things. Oh and in RL like in Sports its not about how much talent you have. Its about how much luck you have( money and connections).
