Perhaps you are correct and the Shacknews article mentions they are also getting the same "error" when trying to launch the client.
(Link was posted one page ago, the article gets updated now and then with new information.)

erm ok I will elaborate quickly as Im about to leave for work.
The game play is great, tho sometimes a little too fast (q3 style) you encounter some bottlenecks where million os people are spamming the fuck out of engineer class and putting turrents everywhere.
the look and style is great, aint seen anything that looks and feels quite like this before, it reminds me of No One Lives Forever for some reason. All the characters are great, they look and sound awesome. Tho some are more usefull than others, with pyro being right down at the end of the usefull scale, the pyro might as well lay down the flamethrower and breathe on you with hot breath.
Spy is the greatest class by far IMO, great cloack and disguises.
Theres lots of nice little humourous additions, like when you die you get a nice cheery message like 'You died but on the bright side you did x and killed x!' snapshots of the folks who killed you are good, reminiscent of kill cam from cod.
Im writing this quick as Im off to work.
Overall it looks and feels great, its very funny and very slick and polished.
but with it being a beta I feel some classes WAY outbalance others, but I assume this will be sorted out. |

Aside from the loading screens this game just oozes quality. I've only literally played about 15 minutes so I have little to speak about the gameplay itself but they got this just right from what I can tell. It's Team Fortress but fucking quality style

Changed my shortcut thing to
-fullscreen -width xxxx -height xxxx -refresh 60
change xxxx to what you want
