They cannot ban you only days before release. Plenty of people out there wil have legitimately bought the game by now. See the picture above in this thread as an example. Either the article is entirely made up by the author or MS are blowing hot air to try put us off.

Either way I don't care, my console is already banned..boohoo!

seems like turning the clock on your xbox to 9/26 after unplugging your network cable would work...right? That's what one of the comments said on that page. I doubt they'd ban anyway, as has been previously mentioned, the customers did nothing wrong. I don't think you can put a "street date" on human beings.

screw em....My hacked 360 is already banned from live. So if I can get my hands on a release I'm playing it...I'm in the US so there is absolutely no chance of me getting my hand on a retail version before street date. So it won't affect my non-banned 360 either way.

Sucks for those who aren't already banned from live though. Pussy ass microsoft. If stores screw up and sell the game early the users shouldn't be punished for playing it.

worked for me, i never got banned on a 360 flashed out of the box (still on 4.2fw, none of this ixtreme bollocks) because i use an offline account for playing backups and my Live account is only used for legit games and demos. So i will just play Halo 3 on my offline account.

Simply not connecting to the internet doesn't appear to be a solution either. The rep also confirmed that Microsoft is able to ban accounts based on information collected by the console which shows when the game was played. This news is sure to come as a shock to some gamers who have already started playing the final chapter in the blockbuster Halo trilogy.

personally i dont think they would ban, but it would not be immediate ban anyway, it would be in a few weeks.

No way on earth they would ban someone. It only takes one person to seek legal advice for playing a game they legitimately owned, for MS to have to back down.

Microsoft can discontinue the Live service at their discretion. Read the end user agreement.

they dont have access to your offline profiles, so how would they gather that information.

Well I just assumed that was a piss take. As if someone from Bungie would upload the game or even if they did, use their real e-mail address.

Isnt that the one someone said Snipakiller was uploading though and which is real and works?

Well the statement has been changed and it's only MS employees that will get banned.
