If every game on PC will be a shitty console-port, then yeah.

Crysis is 16bg

Quote:
Crysis Minimum Requirements Released - September 20, 2007

UPDATE: These system requirements were released by accident and are not an indication of the final minimum requirements for Crysis. Crytek are still optimizing Crysis and so as soon as they get a clear understanding of what will be able to run this game, they will release the final requirements to the public. I'll leave the unfinalised requirements below for reference only. So at least we know what the minimum requirements are not Smile

CPU: Intel P4 2.8Ghz or AMD equivalent
RAM: 1GB
Video Card: 6800GT (256mb) or ATI/AMD Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb)
HDD Space: 16GB
OS: Microsoft Windows [XP and Vista I imagine]
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

I don't think they gonna optimize away that many gb if even that b4 the game is finish.

I played it on a 1GB, Mobility Radeon x1400 laptop with great success on 640x480.

Already played the Demo on the 360 and thought it had a very Arcadey feel to it so it didnt realy do anything for me..

It got a playable fps,
from 20/25 in heavy combat, 30/40 average.
a lil bit choppy with shadows/decals on, and 1280x960.
but good playable.

If u disable the shadow thingy in graphics option,
u will get a nice boost in fps, and still looks good.
30/35+ FPS in combat.

i could not play the demo and i can not play the retail. When i start a new game my monitor is going into stand by mode. Its not the resolution. I think the standard refresh rate is to high or to low for my LCD screen (65/70/75). Does anyone has a sollution for this?

Install drivers for your monitor, so it's perfectly recognized.

But the real question is; is it worth the download?

I don't care about gfx, sound or Michael Jackson's pet monkey. All I want to know is if it's a good game.

Try to find a config.ini or something. Maybe you can change the resolution or refresh rate manually.

I didn't think I'd like the game (skipped the demo because of inability to remap controls), however, I really enjoyed it. The interactive environments + special abilities made for some kick ass Grade A Hollywood style shootouts that I won't soon forget.

The eye-shots, twirl of doom, exploding shit.....all this added up to yield one hell of an experience. Sure, the story was cliche and a bit dull, but this is a worthy successor (or evolution of if you will) Max Payne.

Sure it was short (started playing 8am finished 2pm), but what was there was well worth it.

*Would have given it a 90 had we been treated to some Chinese whorehouses er something of the like. For a game with so much gore I was surprised at the lack of gratuitous nudity/sex Very Happy

What about MP? Is it playable just like that? I see there's no serial to put during install?

I think it's a problem with drivers/Windows. The game is not getting the correct supported resolutions list from Windows.
