I have to buy some pickups for my friend, and I wanted to know (I couldn't find out) if I buy one of them, do I buy just one or two of them. Gibsons and Ephiphones, and some other guitars have two pickups, so when I buy it do I buy just one or do I get two?
They are
DiMarzio DP151 PAF Pro Humbucker Pickup
DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Humbucker Pickup
Seymour Duncan SH8 Invader Humbucker Pickup
@ www.zzounds.com - it's where I bought my guitar so I looked from there. Also, can you put those kind of pickups on a Fender type guitar like squier?

You can replace one or the other or both. The neck pickup is warmer tone, and the bridge is a sharper tone. You can put a humbucker in anything you can get it to fit in including strat type models. ALA Eddie Van Halen. You have to mod the pick guard though. You can also get a humbucker thats wired into a single coil size pickup, so no mods needed.

Depends on what you get, if you buy 1 you'll get one, if you buy a set you'll get two and mabye some extras.
I bought this set a few months ago, came with an EMG81/85 set with an EMG PA2 toggle switch and 4 speed knobs.

click on the 81 or 85 in the list and you can listen to each pickup individually.

I've listened to those pickups and they are really great, especially the "dirty" one. I've looked into those pickups and you get only one pickup (I thought that you get 2 for that super prize ). Still thanks for info...

What these pickups going into? I had the option to swap my 460 stocks for some fancy stuff
back when I bought my Les Paul. I do not regret saying no. Its like Kennys Chickin. The wood makes it good!

um, the zakk wylde and kerry king sig set comes with both an 81 and an 85. A lot of stores don't show you what you get other than two pickups but..
EMG KFK Signature..
Zakk Wylde Signature...
You must have been looking at just singular picksups that you only get one. But getting either the Zakk Wylde signature or Kerry King signature you'll get both 81 and an 85 active pick up. The dirty sound only meant it was being played behind distortion which im sure you got, just making sure you understood that part.
