I kind of like this game so far, I'll wait till the full version to give a defenetive answer to that. But it's much harder to score and the defenders are much better this year. Goalkeeper aren't as passive as they were before. They also make misstakes when defending corners, last year they would either punch the ball away, defender clearing or attacker scoring. Now they can actually miss the ball and it becomes a mess in the area. Smile

Another fun thing that haven't been in the game before is that you can get delayed bookings. You make a bad challenge and the ref says "play on", when the game stops you get a yellow. Passing system is much improved, you have more control than previous versions. How hard you hit the ball and where you want it, before passing and crossings seemed pre-determined...no more.

It's a better feel to the game this year. Sure the graphics are the same, but gameplay is more important imho. Still room for more improvements though. Can't wait to try "be a pro", hopefully that will make this game even more fun. Now just waiting for PES so I can try that as well.

same old fifa shit. even pes on nintendo ds is better (no kidding).
pace of the game seems artificial, camera even seems to anticipate the action...
ball on passes seems moving by remote. all seems artifacted, far from being "real".

a bad copy of pes. all the few good things in it are merely taken by pes.
but, again, why would i play with a bad copy than the good original?

last word : id like to know who taught easports designers to come out with such human body model.
all players have their mass-center shifted 20 cm lower (they seem all fat assed).
single body parts (legs, arms etc) are all wrong designed.
i wonder if they know what "detail textures" means.

guess whos fault? EaSports canada division.
Canada and football, great combo.

The so cold "next-gen" versions of FIFA always have less groups, leagues and game modes, so this is shit too.

Wait for the PES game Sad

You sure about that?

The whole reason behind EA not going next-gen for PC was that some stupid kiddies (that are too dumb to pirate the game lulz and buy it) can run it on high. I said this on the 07 thread, and I'll say it here as well: This is not my imagination, it was said by a PR guys in an interview for FIFA07 with more gentle words ("we are afraid not everyone can run the next-gen engine on their current PCs" or something of that sorts).

Yes, it was said by EA. Next Gen PC next year only. And yes you are right, they are not making it this year because they say people dont have PCs to run next gen GFX... WTF.
There are low, and medium setting for something !
ea sucks

actually the first half of is not true....... EA no where has confirmed that they'll make a next gen for pc next year...

On the offical Fifa forums i was actually reading a msg by one of the Admins, stating that they will infact make a current gen fifa for ps2 and such... and I think considering how much EA sucks, they'll probably make the same for PC

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

Just had a few games on the Demo. Its quite fun, still suffers from the "you can run through the middle of a defence" problems, but I still enjoyed my few games. The Highlight being a 45th minute winner by Juan Pablo Angel.

Well...PES doesn't have be a pro. Wink But sure I guess PES has most of what FIFA has improved on this year...but what is to be expected? If they want to keep up I can only expect them to use stuff from other games. Many game companies do this. FIFA is far more fun this year than last year, even on current gen. PES3 didn't work well on PC for some reason and I never bothered with last years game. So I think I can have fun with both series this year as I think they both offer something.

The real reason is that they know it's not a big seller on the PC, that they have a deal with Microsoft to placate their 360 products and that they are more likely to be sought after in this state and less likely to be pirated on the 360.

EA say a lot of things - mostly shite.

On the other hand the supposedly next-gen graphics of FIFA make it look precisely 0.95% worse. Accentuating the poor artistry of the product by doing sweet f.all for the low resolution textures, disproportionate figures and cack handed engine.

Create a locale.ini in the installation directory. There are various parameters you can edit. Here's mine:

Code:
NEVERENDING_GAME=1
WINDOWED=0
RESOLUTION=1280x1024x32
RENDER_QUALITY=2
NO_SECOND_YELLOW=0
NO_IMMEDIATE_RED_CARD=0

[OPTIONS]

LINESMEN =0
REFEREE =1
OFFSIDES=1
BOOKINGS=1
INJURIES=1
DIFFICULTY_LEVEL=2
GAME_SPEED=0

TIMEDISPLAY=1
VISUALINDICATORS=1
RADAR=1
WIDESCREEN=0

[GUI]
SKIP_TITLE = 1

Oh yes, I've ripped it off some-guy in SoccerGaming forums. Kudos to them.
