Shimano said he got it working but having to disable LAN in order to get it to work is not a "scene release". I'm going to test it in a sec, just reinstalling.

I was reffering to COH with the 1.8gb patch applied. NOT Opposing Fronts.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Not sure if the OF check is exactly the same though.

I'm not sure if that's what this does if it would be a fake isn't a bit far fetched. Fakes normally contain lots o pron (which might be a good thing sometimes) but which "faker" invests so much time to create something that looks so real and even installs game files just to litter your reg with entries. That sounds a bit odd.
Besides, I've just chosen to abandon COH altogether. After I read what the new scheme really does or might do (collecting data and send it Relic) because Relic choses to stay silent I don't feel I want one of the new Relic games on my disc. Hell I even though to order a copy of OF and COH today but even that seems an unneeded threat to my privacy atm. I don't wanna log in to an online accoun just to play LAN. Sorry, Relic this has gone way to far.
I'm off to play Medieval 2 and Kingdoms...

It does work if you disable the Net for the first run and put any old disk in when it asks for CoH original disk. When it asks for COH (OF) just mount it and use YASU. Worked for me, tx Shimano, I would have given up otherwise.
Will be buying it later today as they didnt use that BS Securom and it is a great game.
Cheers
B
PS : I said it didnt work, so in that respect it was a fake (The nfo needs to be much clearer), but I also very clearly stated that the data was there so if I misled anyone, apologies.

Guy who released this could have just adjusted the installer a bit to make the default installdir C:\program files\COH Fake, same with registry settings, but still I found it very odd, cuz a respectable releasegroup would first and foremost take away any doubt of it being a fake cuz they want to be in the spotlight with many people downloading their stuff.
When I installed this procyon it even removed my original COH and only 2 files remained in the original installdirectory, namely the uninstall.exe and a file called RemoveFakeCOHMSI.bat.
Fishy fishy fishy:LOL:

haven't been fully clear, the :c:\program files\coh fake" directory indeed got created, and it got created after I had already selected a different folder for installation. Default the installer gave me this directory,
"C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts" but right after you'r installing the files that weird "COH Fake" directory got created. This to me is fishy, if it were a 100% genuine release the files would just go to the folder you selected and not some mystery folder.

One confirmation more---> It works!
First, I tried it with old YASU 1.1 & DTools 4.06 and it DID NOT work, but with YASU 1.4 & DTools 4.10 it will, but it still want's to check your media everytime you start it..no biggie.
I also had LAN cable off from my PC.

lol at the misinformation in this thread.
the release is NOT fake, the game is out in retail right now and not november.
the game works fine with either dt 4.10 + yasu or just dt pro, however u MUST disconnect from the net or block it somehow.

True enough although much of the confusion about the fact that it worked or didnt could have been easily avoided if Procyon or whoever had bothered to write a detailed NFO that explained the steps necessary to bypass the checks.

I mentionen NO SECUROM because Relic officials said exactly that over and over again. Guess, Relic screwed loyal customers big time.

Playing Procyon release, Yasu 1.4, DT 4.10, the message when you don't run Yasu looks like the normal SecuROM one.

Do you need to disable internet or pull out your LAN-cable everytime or just before the first run?

Every time. But you can just as well use a good firewall (like you should do anyway) to block internet acess. No need to pull the cable.
An important question is, is LAN play available when you block COH from the internet (by unpluggin the cable or using a firewall) so you can play locally with friends??? Or is that killed when you cannot go online???

Do a HOSTS block. That way lan is available (with blocking by firewall it is not).

Did you test that? Shouldn't that result in the same? At least my firewall (Kaspersky) allows me to allow/block every single type of communication. So outbound to Relic could be blocked while LAN ones could stay alive. It's easily done when you know the IPs.
How do you do a HOST block? And where is that host file? Please help...

c:\windows\systems32\drivers\etc\HOSTS
just find out the relic server ip and put it in there to redirect to 127.0.0.1
