None of you can make a valid point in comparing this game to any other, all you guys know is what the devs wanted you to know, and we've all been lied and decieved times and times again by Valve, let's wait and see folks

you seem to not understand how companies work, the reason why they released the tools to offical mods was because they would make money out of it. Damn, wonder if youll every get that point through your head, companies are there to make money.....

that's what i've been saying from day 1... if valve gave a shit about the comminity they would let them explore the engine. Allow them to make mods until the game would come out. For heavens sake...
I may be ignorant, and that's fine with me (i couldn't be happier), but you're arrogant.
We have nothing else to talk about. I see valve as piece of shit company releasing a game that meets our expectations because our expectations were limited by the press releases sent out by valve. Reviews lack important information... high scores mean nothing... I have more fun playing a game with a 7 point score than a game with a 9 point score.
so this game may be great seeing how none of us can be really dissapointed because we expect from it what we were told to expect.
maps will be huge... detailed only from the inside... it will be filled with enough eye candy... decent ai... and gameplay that implements the enviroment... what else? revolutionary? when was the last time you played a really good 'unique' first person shooter?
nolf was revolutionary, tron was revolutionary, nolf 2(not so much but it was) heck even call of duty is revolutionary.

I know theres quite a few in progress, some with finished models and stuff, one of them is Insurgency: http://www.insmod.net/
Know I've seen other too, they got some nice models for insurgency right now, example:

Valve might not care about them but people are in the process of creating them, with or without Valve's support.

meh, but are the tools they are using leaked? or 100% legit? It would be great if there were a lot of mods in the works... hl2 isn't long... and would be highly repetitive if counter-strike source isn't your thing...

I remember them saying they released the modding tools to mod makers, but not publicly, I could be wrong but I think I heard that awhile ago.

dont bother hes just one of those people that think everything is a flippin conspierecy and that everyone else is out to get em. And to answer your question of the last revolutionary fps i played, hl. Everything else has been just a copy cat really. I dont see how tron could possibly even be consiered revolutionary. NOLF was pretty good but no where near hl. Im not a die hard valve fan boy, Im mad about the delays, but that seems bout par for the industry standards, but you sit there high and mighty on your throne, acting like valve is on of thee worst game companies when in reality they are the ones that are going to save it. Trust me youll see

how did i say graphics make it revolutionary, tron added no new revolutionary parts to the genre, hl2 will. Making it an interactive movie and since you havent played anything near the final, you cant tell me ethier wise.
