it's a vista problem...

a - Go to Start/Accessories/run command prompt (the dos box thingy)

b - Right click on the icon, hit "Run as administrator"

c - Now copy and paste: BCDEDIT /set increaseuserva 3072

d - Hit enter and restart.

and see if that fixes it

I have a similar problem, and it's a wierd one. I can mount the image fine but when it autoruns (or if I use explorer to go to the root of the CD) the entire PC locks up. That's on a Dell whatever Core2 system with the latest daemon tools running XP MCE (wife's pc).

if I mount the image on another pc (generic P4 2.8 I built), running vista, running a recent version of Daemon, it installs no problem...

The only thing I can think of is that it's Mcafee causing the problem, or MCE. if anyone figures it out those, a post would be appreciated Smile

mcafee is an abomination to PC security, same with norton. Get rid of it and use Kaspersky Internet Security 7 or Nod32, those are your only 2 choices.... (not sure if nod comes wit a firewall?)

Don't like nod or Kas and I don't need a software firewall. I use Symantec AV, not norton and I love it...quietly runs, no real problems. I agree, I hate mcafee...maybe I'll remove it and see if the game likes symantec better...

lol Symantec is just has bad, same company that makes norton. I used to use them and was always getting hit with something and had to rely on AVG while I had it installed. Uninstalled and used something else and wallah, was catching viruses with other stuff. But, if you like go for it.

Symantec does quite well actually...I've used every major AV software out there and finally settled on SAV. It's easy to set up, scans quickly, etc. Anyway...I switched to SAV on the problem computer and the problem remains exactly the same.

<edit> I find the 90% of virii make it to 'x' persons pc from user ignorance. I only need an AV to catch the other 10%.

So, after re-installing 3 times the game finally works ... to a fashion, has anyone run into the problem where you can't save? It just keeps saying save file failed?

What kills me is people sign up for the forum just to get help and think they deserve it....this is not a tech support site for warez......should have to have to have a min number of posts before you can request help

ppl come here, we solve the problem and then they bugger off without contributing...pisses me off

You know what I hate? when people try and force an opinion on other people based solely on postcount or join date.

Get off your high horse if you have a problem, then post in the thread and if you have nothing to contribute other than your hate, GTFO.

Just so people know that "unable to save" issue is fixed by the cloneCD 2nd fix, not the first one.

Also there is a new patch out.

Not sure who you were directing that too..I don't think I saw any messages which indicated someone felt they were entitled to something. Oh...and the comment about min. posts is rediculous, that would defeat the point of a 'forum'.
