what were ya hoping for? From the demo so far it seems like it's going to be another corridor shooter. Follow the hallways etc which isn't really my favorite thing since it restricts replay value unless the game is going to have multiple endings or choices.

well the reason it feels a little too 'controlled' is because its got quite a specific story and structured atmosphere, which is harder to maintain if you allow people complete free roaming.. im really looking forward too it, im hoping 6 different characters with different abilities and playing styles will make for some interesting gameplay/sequences/challenges...

Okay, so like, the ~2% of the game that consists of "Simon Says" sequences makes the entire damn game a Dragon's Lair clone. Riiiiight... So I guess Bioshock is nothing more than a really pretty version of Pipe Dream, in that case.

For god's sake, it's just fucking stupid the way people take the tiniest little element of a game that they don't like, and they try to make it out as though that particular element makes up the entire game. Get a grip, people, and stop blowing these little things out of proportion.

I, for one, thought this game was incredible. I haven't had as much fun in a straightforward FPS in ages. I really got a kick out of the general premise of the game (reminds me of Geist on GCN, but taken way further), and the different character abilities and weapons, and how simple it was to use them (I especially like the way guns are used and whatnot, no switching necessary). I wouldn't change a thing. Really looking forward to this one.

Chiv, open "%appdata%\Codemasters\Clive Barker's Jericho Demo\game.cfg" and change FullScreen to 0. There are some other tweaks you can do there to help you gain some more fps.

heres a question... poking around inside the cfg, why are there autoaim options? this is a pc, not a console game, we are of a higher breed and dont use such things dammit!... furthermore, why do they appear to be enabled? (aided aim they calls it, but its all the same shit - its set to 1 (on))

actually i just went back again and played the demo and even though its set to 1, i cant see any autoaiming occuring in the game at all... kept my mouse pointed directly at the head of a stationary enemy he was attacking a teammate, and apart from the usual 'automatic player motion' stuff you get when you stop controlling your player, the aim wasnt moving at all.. whenever the bad dude moved his head or turned or whatever, the crosshair didnt track with it, didnt even stay red when the crosshair wasnt directly aimed at him (indicating a lock-on)... so yeah... weird.. oh well.

must be either a remnant of the xbox version the game was primarily made for, or its intended for the fucking smacktards that would ACTUALLY play a freakin fps ON the pc using a flippin gamepad... i mean seriously, if anything ever warranted a bullet to the back of the freakin head, its a crime like that...

Strange, because I was playing it the other day, and I saw my aim follow a dude that was coming down the stairs... I actually loled.

I missed the horror in this game. It's simply a shooter with some freaky characters.

i agree, i didnt really experience any OMG FUCK THAT WAS SCARY bits in the D E M O, but you cant really judge how the whole game will be... the atmosphere, music, team mate chatter... all added up to quite a cool experience though... im sure if you took an unbiased view of the completed game, there'll probably be quite a few scary moments and sequences...

hey, does this game have pre-rendered cgi sequences? i fucking hope it does, ive really missed those things from pc games in the past couple of years... i had hoped bioshock wouldnt have cheaped out on the THREE or so cut--scenes in the flamin game, especially given that the advertisements were beautifully done cgi... but nooo lets use RECORDED fucking in-game cinematics ffs... WITHOUT FSAA!!! (muhahahah)

anyway with the pre-rendered wicked-ass looking cgi shit ive seen in jericho advertisements, and given barker wants to create a very cinematic experience, id be VERY fucking dissapointed if they didnt have cgi in this, atleast for the intro and final sequence... has anyone heard anything on use of cgi cut-scenes?

In general, no net-code present means no multiplayer mods.

I think that was because most of the code was already there from where the devs had experimented with it.

So is it to my assumption that dues ex had the code in there as well for when they had a MP patch come out?

It used the UE1, so most probably net code was left untouched.

Review on a finnish game magazine...60/100.

Basically the review says it's just another corridor shooter(like some has stated earlier) with weak weapons and that the abilities of different characters aren't exploited fully among other things.

Will still give it a try though.Smile
