Well... you´re wrong Razz

I saw it yesterday, i´ll give it a 7/10.

And it was better than i thought it´d be.. Sure its pretty predictable, screams HOLLYWOOD, has so much product placement it makes my head hurt and is ofcourse so american..

But the effects, the visuals overall are awesome.. And that childish feeling you get when Optimus is introduced, sending you back to your childhood and your Transformers toys, is just great. The movie keeps a good pace and is enjoyable to watch. Still, its a cliché action movie with cool robots.

i gave it a 6 i think.

i remember the willis vs bay smackdown, with willis saying working with michael bay was fucking horrible, and when their two films (transformers, die hard 4) go head to head, die hard would do the best....

well willis lost, because transformers raked in way more than die hard... but seriously, why wouldnt it? who the shit could resist giant fucking cgi robots blowing shit up?

but i just finished watching die hard 4, and its DEFINATELY the superior film... transformers was style with zero substance...die hard was fun from start to finish, hell of a good time, and very well made...

transformers: 6 (nice cgi, but NOTHING else)
die hard 4: 7.5 (most likely somewhere between 8 and 8.5 for the unrated version im betting Very Happy)

but yeah. transformers really wasnt that good... it was fun, i wont lie... i did like it, and ill be grabbing that 1080 as soon as it rolls out... but best movie of the year, absolutely not, not even close.... the proper transformers movie, the animated one... nostalga and fanboy'ism aside, its easily a far superior film... and fuck it had great music too Very Happy

Bay loves product placement. Look at The Island. Christ that had a shitload too. I remember in Transformers when Sam drops the cube and it sends out that charge, in that 1 minute it shows a Xbox360, Mountain Dew vending machine, and a Cadillac.

Look at Rambo for upcoming greatness.

War 6/10 - Not a bad plot if you know in advance that the plot stinks.

Romance and Cigerettes 7/10 - Wife's choice. A bit weird which can be good but nothing special here.

Half Nelson 9/10 - Presents a unique view on life. Drugs, relationships, family, work. A very good movie.

1408 8/10 - Haven't felt such tension in a movie for some time.

Stranger than Fiction 7/10 - Quite boring to watch but leaves you feeling really good at the end.

Cashback 6/10 - An artsy film with some great moments but suffers from some drawn out scenes.

yeah, that's why i gave it a so high mark. even, i've watched it twice. i had lots of fun; like no other film was able to give me this year (except "300", that i've forgott it was this year too).

perhaps i was filled with nostalgia watching transformers. Razz

Die Hard 4 - 7.5/10

The problem is, that im a nerd (as with many others here), and since the movie is based around compters and hacking, seeing that shit the movie shows ya, more or less pisses me off Razz

I know, i know, its made for a broad audience, where most of the people probably dont now much about computers..

This is also a pretty fast paced movie, some nice explosions and action.. Still, John is John "I can´t be killed" McClane, you pretty much know whos gonna die, and whos not. The movie doesnt really offer anything unpredictable, and really nothing new at all. Its pretty much what DH4 should be, atleast if you only go by your inital expectations. Shame really, i do think you could make something better out of this by just trying a liiittle bit harder.

see i was right. twas a fun as hell movie, and it had some great perfect classic die hard bits in it, like when hes talking to himself n shit Very Happy

i think the film seemed a little TOO serious at times, but overall it was a worthy die hard film... the bad guy wasnt that good.. he had nowhere near the presence of jeremy irons or alan rickman, and he didnt look as menacing as the bad guy(s) in die hard 2... he wasnt a BAD villan, just not as good as the others.

i liked the film. one of the better ones of the year. delivers what it promises, has a good cast, great action, and i cant wait for the uncut version with all the 'McClane' moments reinserted (ie: every third word being 'fuck' Very Happy)

and come on.. it WAS much better than transformers wasnt it. it wa better made, better edited, better acted, better pacing, more action... just all over it was a far classier production...

Well, no-one ever beats Hans Gruber Very Happy

Although having worked some in the CGI-buisness and seeing how much work they put in Transformers, id rate that one a bit higher on the effects and well-produced chart.

Still, Transformers is Transformers and i will always love the movie for having the robots i find so cool, and Die Hard being the better movie all-in-all.

I havent seen Planet Terror yet, but even the damn trailer get more than 0. Rating a movie 0 is kinda ridiculous imo..

Then again, you probably was just illustrating that you didnt like it. I do prefer a little constructive reviews though Smile

just finished watching botched... 6.5/10 - the film was weird, its like sometimes it wanted to be serious, and then sometimes it was purposefully cheesy and over the top fun... i think they shoulda stuck with just the cheesy fun and not had any of that seriousness in it. but either way i still enjoyed it... weeeeirrdd fucking film.. at first i thought it was going to be primarily a heist-gone-wrong film and i was really dissapointed, but im glad to see it was something completely different.

That brit chick in it, from the hustle, is fuckin smokin hot.

well ive been putting it off long enough, i might as well watch planet terror now. every time ive looked at the movie on my hdd, i had flashbacks to that death proof piece of shit, and havent been able to bring myself to start the movie... but this time... THIS TIME IM GONNA DO IT MAN!!
