Yeah, you have to be cautious these days where you spend your money. I actually bought bioshock for more that I payed for the orange box, but because I was hooked with something else I never played more than 1.5 hours total. So, yes you have to be very sure on what you buy these days..

Bioshock was one game that burnt me, most of the times I can be pretty sure what's worth buying and what's not just by reading up on it and perhaps playing the demo - but the amount of marketing and hype that was present in Bioshock's opening few weeks made it too difficult.
The thing with the orange box was the value for money, TF2 and EP2 - I consider that a sweet deal for me and they throw in Portal and two games I already own but can now give away for free. TF2 is a lot of fun, it's a refreshing game to play actually.
Buying games is normal, and this forum isn't a haven for people who don't buy games - read around and I think you'll find most of the regulars here are actually people who buy games. The people who don't are those with low post counts who just come on now and then to find out how to beat protections.

i bought orange box...
TF2 is pretty simple minded. ETF was much better... in fact they are identical games, only difference is ETF had more guns, and a shitload more maps, and was free, and TF2 has better graphics but less weapons and maps (at least atm). and well, its probably impossible to get a ETF anymore or find a server, so TF2 has servers (20 players) that are populated.
i agree about Bioshock... Orange Box has value, Bioshock does not. Bioshock has already dropped $10 in Amazon and will probably be $20 in 2 months.
and about people paying for games... there are a handful here, and sometimes one of them will show up with the jackass opine of "buy it you loser" when they want to drive a discussion off topic. i wish someone would gouge out their eyeballs!!! lol.
and this coming from someone who does buy games.

I can't say that i didnt see this coming. For me and my wife we share most single player games, but when it comes to multiplayer, we buy 2 of everything. We bought 2 Hellgate: London, 2 Orange Box, etc. Honestly, you gotta look out for the games that you can replay. I knew Bioshock wasnt going to have any super replay value when I read that there were only 2 endings.

anyone got any good tweak tips? for some bloody reason i got some small "chops" in the game, even if i got the game on max and 1280x1024 or evrything on low and 800x600. i already changed the rates. the fps arnt bad for me, i got around 50-100, but from time to time it drop down to 0. witch is very very annoying. so any tweak guides or tips are very appriciated.

Can i buy it anywhere out of the orange?
Is it planned to be released as a stand alone, same time as the orange box release?
Played Half-life 2, good game - end. Don´t care about the episodes.
CoD 4 MP / and Crysis SP will probably take me from November on, But October seems to be the Team Fortress 2 Game of the month

@shadak, I think it's about $7 for UK and maybe a bit less for the rest EU countries. Mine was ~$51.50 from $45.
@TTorpedo, I think the only release you will see in stores is the orange box for all three platforms. You will be able to buy it as a stand alone from steam but the question is when.
