hmm yeah this game sure does have it's fair share of problems.
they should have just put you on some remote island with nothing but a castle and warehouse and let you go at it against different civilization just like in the good old times. the story behind the missions here feels kinda forced and often doesnt make much sense anyway. should have just left it out.

hmm well i want to buy this game and well - is it worth it ? just for the patch and other things ? or not worth it ?
played it for few hours and can't make up my mind about it (need to buy something for my daughter birthday this game or PS3 Heavenly sword)

Is it worth it? Kinda depends. If you're a SP person (like I am) then no, it's not worth it, if you prefer MP then it *might* be worth it. By *might* I mean it depends on if they have fixed MP or not. I was in the beta (which ended a few weeks ago), and even though I started a lot of games, I only managed to play ~4-8% to the end due to server problems. I have no idea if they have fixed these problems

I have heard that the 1.1 patch add an online activation à la COH opposing fronts, otherwise i haven't seen a crack yet.

No problem. Sometimes it doesn't work from first try, dunno why. But this is what I do: try to start the game with no clone mounted, then prompt appears to insert dvd, now mount the clone and click retry on that prompt. This way it works every time

Never mind. I got it working by updating daemon tools to the latest version. Aparently the online activation only happens if it detects certain third party software on your computer (like daemon tools). It says so in the readme. So i guess the latest daemon tools has some way of preventing the game from detecting it, which is why the activation doesn't get triggered.

Does this addon include an AI? There was two things that completely killed the main game:
1. The name Settlers in the title (this has NOTHING in common with The Settlers)
2. The missing AI
Of course there's a lot of other things wrong with the game too, but those are what I hate most about it. How can a SP game have no AI? With that extremely stupid story it had and the extremely easy campaign, there was nothing in the SP part. And considering that the MP beta never worked (I only managed to finish 2 games out of like 50, the rest ended because of server issues)
At least this game isn't as bad as the fifth "Settlers" game, now that was a disaster

- Install This Expansion Pack
- Play with The Settlers: Rise of an Empire disc mounted.
I don't have the original IMG any more but I did burn it to DVD. Anyone know a way to get it working without downloading the original game again? Thanks.

If you mean using a image file you can always try gamecopyworld or gameburnworld for a so called mini-image, should work just fine but it depends on the protection and additional blacklists.

1. Unrar.
2. Burn or mount the image.
3. Install the game.
4. Install the included update.
5. Copy the cracked content over from the Crack directory on the DVD to
your installation\base\bin\ directory.
If you have the The Eastern Realm expansion installed, copy the cracked
content to the base\bin directory of the expansion as well.
6. Play the game by starting \base\bin\settlers6.exe.
If you run the game with the start menu shortcut or with the
"Play Settlers 6.exe" it will start a loader which will run autoupdate
and might overwrite the cracked executable in case of future updates.
