Ok, so I have two hard drives... One of them has two partition one for windows/application and other one is for download...and there is second hard drive is for movies/music anything else...

Couple days ago I formatted the partition that had windows on it and installed windows xp...And then some strange things kept happening, after couple of hours of use my winamp would just hang up and internet would stop working...just nothing would work and also it wouldnt shutdown...this time had to use reset button and then in bios I cant see second hard drive for some reason...and windows takes about 5 minutes or even sometimes longer to boot...and windows doesnt sees second hard drive
Everytime this happens I have to open up case and unplug and plug sata cable from hard drive to motherboard

Now I dont know if this is windows related issue or what...but that shyt gets really ridiculous. Cant even leave computer on for the night since it will happen again...

This wasnt happening before I had formatted my computer...I have no idea why this is happening Sad

Try booting with only primary hdd connected and leave it on for a while. If it doesn't freeze then you know where the problem is. It's either that the drive is failing or the particular sata bus is buggered.

as other said I will go out today and buy new sata cable...I bet it will be so overpriced since there is only one computer store around where I live ;/

Thanks again!

EDIT : And it happened again with hard drive plugged into different sata port...

Ok tell me if i got something wrong. You formated only windows partition on HDD? You left other partition with all data? If thats true then first thing you should do is unplug other disk and see if freezing stops. If it doesnt then you backup the other partition with appz, del partition then format and install windows. If there are still freezes youre hdd is damaged.Im 99% sure its explorer having problems with that other partitions or disk and thats why windows stop responding.

Yes I have formatted only partition with windows on it
Im kinda confused by your post..I have to unplug drive that has no windows partition on it? and leave drive that has windows on it and see its still freezing? delete all partition on that drive and then format it right?

and btw I unplug drive that are movies/games NOT the windows drive

Ok
Step 1 Unplug hdd with movies. If no change see Step 2 if it helps see Step 3
Step 2 Del partition with appz on disk that had windows. Then format. Then install windows. If doesnt help see STEP 3 and if it helps then it was because of explorer
Step 3 Del partition with movies then format.

Its been hour or hour and half since I have unplug second drive and there havnt been any freezes...But as soon as I plug second drive back into first time BIOS doesnt sees it for some reason then i re-plug it again and then it works but it takes 5 minutes to boot to windows and I load winamp and after few minutes it freezes and then those 10 second freezes happen every 30 seconds or so

I think your drive is dying. You really need to do a backup now, but Im out of ideas about how to do it in your situation...

Edit: Have you tried copying just one file at the time?

Maybe test your partitions/MBR, your drive can be dying like it is said above or the file system can simply be somewhat corrupted by stupid things like a filepath over 255 characters, unrecognized characters in a filename, etc, windows can then freeze for this... thus look at the files/folder you were accessing with winamp, run a chkdsk /r over that partition and check your drive with an app like partition table doctor or similar.

You need to try to copy file by file. If it doesnt work then try to copy from DOS. If you cant copy anything then you should format disk and run recovery tool for deleted data and try to restore it that way. Btw you should always backup youre data.

Lets ignore the fact that he has 2 disks for atleast 1 year and that it worked fine, do you really think that by disconnecting something that doesnt use power unless it does something (reads writes) makes any difference in power consumption?

Now that you have clean disk you should error check it to see if you have bad sectors.
