I don't get how your critizising aliasing on a railing. Turn on AA through the control panel, and if that doesn't work use the trick in the beta forum. The games not at fault for aliased geometry, it's the nature of geometry.
Second, your screen doesn't look like any AF is enabled. You have an 8 series make use of it. Also as everyone has said this is the "High" settings, Very High pushes things further. Like someone else said the Parallax Occlusion mapping is disabled as well as what seems to be higher res textures. Dig around the cfg files.
And to make things worse you take a picture of the most generic and bland area of the enviornment. I'm in no way trying to defend the games graphics, all I'm defending is the fact that what they have previewed to us can be realized in game. You can't compare publicity shots taken at 4802862x1308260 with 402xAA in the most intense action sequence that they've been churning out to your screen.
As for performance, I'm reserving my judgement until the final comes out as well as the expected first day of release patch. The engine is rendering a massive amount of stuff on a huge scale, as you can tell their culling system works pretty well. Obscure the entire mountainside by an object and your framerate sky rockets. So i wouldn't say it's a question of bad coding, just lacking hardware. Imagine if this shit came out last November like it was suppose to, would have been a disaster.

well i had expected high settings would be about all youd get on dx9, and very high would be geared more towards dx10 in the final. second, i think its a bit silly to have to manually enable settings on your graphics card, as opposed to being able to have the game take care of them... this is a high end next gen pc title that should be able to do these things even on the most basic settings.
but ok im going to try playing with some settings and see if i can make this game look like i had hoped it would

well, the first 3 screens are definitely impressive. I don't see anything great on the last one.
the lighting is more realistic which is cool.. I'm just wondering why there is more flora on DX10 than on DX9. I didn't know that DX10 has functionality which makes it easier to do that kind of thing.

dx10 gives you only Pixel Shader 4.0 this means better light , water , smoke effects and thats it , I think the flora is added when they set the setting to ultra high for those rigs that have 4gigs of ram to fit the hole map with extra textures and trees

Actually I believe the Flora is a result of the enhanced instancing available in SM4, there-fore allowing more ambience/geometry/objects in the enviornment. Notice CoH in DX10 has a ton of "Litter" objects.
And if you look closely at those pics, they have either lengthend the draw distance in DX10 or that efficiency of the geometry instancing allowed them to place more trees in the horizon.

i think they lengthen the draw distance in DX10 because they know that you have to have a Gf8800 to get those dx10 effects ,
and you can see on that third pic that dx10 correctly adds AA just like a ATI - see the grass and the leaves

Thanks Teramos for the key, but when I try to join a match, it always says Server authentication failure. I have beta 3, and the client id is the same as all of the games..... hhhmmmm
