yeah i pretty much agree with that... the graphics are nice, but not cutting edge, and the gameplay is the same fast run-and-gun stuff that ive personally gotten over about 3 years ago... ill still download it for the single player campaign, but its not nearly great enough to buy so that i can play online...

The more you play the CTF with vehicles the more it gets addictive.
The hoverboard is great!!! Its a mix of fast action and adrenaline!
Its so mutch more like the original UT!
Its great!

absolutely the best graphics ive ever seen in any FPS game, i think the weapon models are superior even to that of Crysis. I cranked up the settings to the maximum to see what the game could do.. and wow.. its amazing watching 10 explosions at once each with there own lighting and colour effecting the environment and models, blood and guts flying everywhere also looks immense.
Stunning fast game play too, lives true to UT.
GOTY so far for me and its only the damn BETA!

well there's a curious thing.
Here's my rig:
P4 3.02 Dual Core
2 Gig DDR2
1900XTX
Mid spec I guess.
So I download COD4, crank the settings up. Whoaa, jerk fest, almost unplayable at 1024x768
So try Unreal 3 demo. Max settings 1024 768... it's as sweet as a nut. Fast no slowdown, amazing visuals, at least 25-30 fps. I've had terrible fps out of WIC too.
So what's going on here then?

that's pretty strange. I'm using a GeForce 7900 GTX and both demos work fine with the max settings at 1280x1024. my 7900gtx should be about the same performance as your x1900xtx.
I've seen other people with even better GPUs complain about performance of the CoD4 demo as well, so it seems there is just some weird issue. i'm sure it'll be fixed in the final and you'll get good performance.

Fishslice - ur cpu should be a bottleneck for the x1900xtx, it definitely needs more horsepower.

I ran COD 4 on 1280*1024 on medium settings, ran very good. Unreal runs 1024*768 on medium-high pretty good but not as good as COD 4
EDIT: My comp is 3800+X2, geforce 7600 GS 512mb, 1,5 gig ram

Ditch the p4 and get a c2d, im running ut3 at 1920res with my x1900xtx at around 40-50fps avg. Cod4 however runs fine at 1680x1050 res.

I went into Game shop today and Four-eyed-fred at the till said that UT3 was out on the 9th of November for PC? is that right?

Great demo! The walkers were awesome, right out of War of the Worlds. Really looking forward to this release!
