agree, everything that came after 3rd were just another expansion packs and 4th didn't brought anything new and screwed rally part completely
that's where i stoped playing and care about GT at all
btw here is IGN Preview, if anyone cares
Quote: | October 24, 2007 - With Need for Speed ProStreet revving its engine and about to roll up to the starting line, we ran through the opening sections of an almost final build of the game to see what's in store for us in just a few short weeks.
We've previously talked at length about how you can create a Race Day online for other players to jump in and play at their leisure. The single-player game works the same way, with events grouped into said Race Days and your goal being to win or even dominate each set of events. Each event in a Race Day, be it a Grip Race, Drag Race or what have you, earns you a number of points depending on your placement, how much you can beat a target time by and the damage total on your car. Once you've garnered enough points, even if you haven't completed all of the events, you'll be crowned the winner, and if you earn enough, you'll be deemed to have dominated the event, which earns you extra goodies.
Horsepower and skill are the keys to victory.
When you've completed an event, you'll earn a cash prize as well as a mystery gift. Five "cards" will appear face-down on the screen and you can choose one at random. These prizes range from more cash to a new car to a repair ticket or more.
Car damage plays a part in your vehicle's performance. Rather than influencing all sorts of nuances to your performance, there are simply three levels to the damage that you can receive. Light and major damage affect your car's acceleration, top speed and handling in either minor or major ways, depending on what level you're at. These are full car effects, so no matter where the impact occurs, it'll affect you in the same ways. This is nice in that you always know exactly how much of a detriment a crash will be on your racing.
Beyond light and major damage, you can also total your car, which not only takes you out of the race but leaves your vehicle unusable until you get it fixed. With light and heavy damage, you can continue to take your car into races, though it'll perform at a less than ideal level. When it's totaled, you'll need to use a specific ticket that you can win in order to bring it back from the dead. Without said ticket, you'll have to rely on other vehicles until you pick one up.
There's a total of 55 cars to be found in the game that range across a huge spectrum of performance. The tuning mechanics, which we've covered in-depth right here, let you tweak and change each and every ride in a multitude of ways. We managed to take a 2008 Porsche 911 GT2 and bump it up to over 1,000 horsepower. We then managed to take said rocket out to the track and record a 0-60 time of 2.19 seconds. If the game simulated the structural integrity of vehicles the car probably would have torn itself apart when we hit the gas.
Once you've built up a nice array of vehicles and dominated enough Race Days, you'll be able to challenge one of the game's four Race Kings. These drivers are the cream-of-the-crop and are your ticket to getting into bigger and better events. We haven't gotten far enough to challenge any of these guys yet, but they're next on our to-do list.
Need for Speed ProStreet is but a mere three weeks away, and we've got our racing gloves at the ready for its release. Check back soon for our full review. |

You have to admit though that Crapon was, well, crap, and everyone bashing it were right.
Bashing this game is stupid because a) it's not out and b) it looks like a complete overhaul from previous NFS.

i've never said carTon was good but i didn't hated blindly either
there is just no enough games that allow u visual costumization of a real cars that nfs series brought
and engine sounds are always superior in nfs series than in any other games

NFS hm...
Muscle Car Handling from Carbon + Canyon Stuff from Carbon + Tuning from NFSU2 + Tracks from MW + nextgen gfx + (optional) damage model = good enough NFS for me even if its NFS1000 ... how much of that we will have in NFS11 ... we'll see.
oh and btw i want my Corolla AE86 from NFSU2 back ... ( i was like oh YEAH Canyon Downhill races in NFS:C ... but then... no Corolla AE86 -_- ) those who know Initial D will know what i mean, hehe.

The dev's are idiots for following the lame ass stereo typical trend found in the last game.
Muscle cars accelerate fast!
Exotics have high top speed!
Imports handle good!
Fucking morons, they make a mockery of racing games. If that shit carries through again these guys need to torch their balls.

This is the review version. One of the journalists obtained it from EA the game, the game did not get out onto net.

The guy from hungary say that:
Nfs was reborn!
Good, best, etc. Not the fuckin full arcade shit!
The feeling is very high, the cars have weight, and the game is an half simulation.
One of the best way between the simulation and arcade play.
Gameplay is long,loooong!
Etcetc...
Sorry for bad english:)

Somewhat along the lines cobra said.. full of praises. Then again, i never trust review sites.. no matter if they are english or hungarian. So my advice: see for yourself when its out. Its just pathetic how much crap people can write about games (both good and bad)
The only thing i find ridiculous about the review are the screens tbh. The guy is either playing NFS1.5, or has the graph settings down to "jut a bit lower than our minimum setting".
Considering this is a damn reviewer, i guess its the lack of proper hardware. After all.. why use a decent PC to review a game that promises to blow you away with graphics. (would be sooo mind numbingly hungarian)

Zerocool tested the game...Not the graphic...He was always in 1024*768 in BASE graphic settings. He tests the experience of the game, the graphics do not interest it
The graphics not on all of them ....
According to his statement, the game experience serious.
This not advertisement text, but a normal game tester's writing.he criticized the bad games always.
If he says it that this not the weak nfs ,I believe him it then.

I just watched almost all HD movies
on gametrailers.com. And all i can say is...
GODAMN i LiKe This concept!
The speed is awsome the shinin glue
is FiNNELY G0NE! I can't wait to try
this game out. I like racer with high speed.
Like in Flatout 2. Let's Hope for a demo s00n!
About the old NFS games..From nfs porsche
i finished each game. And for me the best
NFS stay's porshe unleased. This game was
just amazing for its time + this first racer with
free roam. If i named it correctly.
The underground series MW and carbon
were fun to play. Like Underground 1 more
then 2. Most wanted & Cardon was oke.
But far to fucking short. When i finished the
gamei was bored will i still liked to play the game...
That is really a big disapointment.
I just hope they will make ProStreet 10 times
longer then Cardbon.
Also the drifting in carbon sucked!
I find the drifting of Underground1
the best. Sound and everything.
and most fun to do. Also good to
see drag racing back in the game.
Also about the online part. I hope
they will create some system allot
better then in the older series with
more online possibility's. That would
be nice.
