i just wanted to chime in on this game.
I got a chance to install it and play it tonight and I am absolutely amazed. Fantastic RPG thus far. Hard to believe it is the gutted Neverwinter Ngihts engine. Hell, it looks better than Neverwinter Nights 2.
Cool characters and a really cool story. forst time I have been gripped by an RPG like this in quite a while. IMHO, should be a game of the year contender from what i have seen so far.
i am also going to buy this. The guys that made it deserve it and there aren't enough quality games like this around.
FANTASTIC.

On these preceding pages now page 37, not much info on producing potions or how to combine all the alchemist ingredients. I have read about ten books n 7 scrolls and have a ton of items in storage at inn. I see novice to expert in many skill categories and am still clueless .I Guess its try and experiment mostly. In order to fully understand the game more fully.

go rest, click on the alchemy button, click on a potion recipe and if you have the stuff it'll auto create the mixture, then you need to click the button down on the bottom to set it to create then you need to meditate to let it finish.

You know what, I might!
No, right now I am leeching it. It didn't show up on my usenet for some reason. Only the nfo and the 72nd file did! I found an alternative method (Evil Overlord Laugh MWAHAHA!) LOL!
If it is as good as people say I will buy it. I just bought Bioshock and The Orange Box. My son is due to be born December 1st so money is a little tight.
SpykeZ, you are thoroughly enjoying this game right? I am really looking forward to this type of game! The planets are aligned for this game for some reason.......just feels right at the moment.

The game is the best RPG/Medieval I've played since Baldur's Gate II ( I didn't play the first one ) The towns, the tavers and so forth are just as alive and immsersive as BGII was, all the voices, the noises, the barking of dogs, walking around town and seeing people react to the weather and what time it is. Being able to interact with them makes it even more like your there, gambling, drinking games, getting piss ass drunk which is awesome and is probably the first game to actually make you feel drunk.
Action is decent and there isn't too much or too little, the combat is a bit weird at first I didn't think I was going to like this game because of it, but since I toughed it out and got used to it, I simply LOVE it now. Especially once you get used to using the different fighting styles and mixing it up with your magic.
The game is greatly optimized but the loading times are the only bad thing I see about this game, most houses are empty and load times to get in them are barely nothing, but going back outside you have to reload the whole level again which gets time consuming, but your so into the game, I hardly ever notice how long they are anymore.
To be honest, the games reminds me of BGII (for the design and sounds etc) Fable (the fantasy theme) and Morrowind (going inside just about any house, steal what you want, use what you want, create your own potions).
The amount of side quests is enourmous as well, bulletin boards with quests, random people you meet, gambling, boxing, trying to score with the ladies.
Me and my friends simply love it, I got a buddy out in Norway who's gunna import me a bunch of copies for me and some friends.
Personally, this is THEE best game I have played all this year and probably last year next to Bioshock, which isn't even in the same genre, so I'd pay just about any amount for this game, especially for the fact these developers treated us as pc gamers and gave us just that, not too mention their really listening to the community's feedback and popping out patches.
I got a buddy who said the modkit was supposed to be coming out on the net if I understood him correctly which will make this game just worth that much more.

i hated vizima for that especially the trade quarter or whatever it was but the new area after vizima is pretty good for loading times

very thrustworthy, ordered many times here before. And they ship to US.
First click "Toevoegen aan winkelwagen", then click, "Stuur het op", then check box "Ik ben een nieuwe klant", then click "Aanmelden", rest kinda speaks for itself.

The main dog is part of the story and part of the reverends quest. So you'll fight that dog at the end of it which has to be done to get into vizima. So all in due time, you'll fight it |
Yeah, and getting to the fight is the easy part. Actually kicking that thing's ass? Not so easy. I am thinking of going back before the cave and gaining some extra bronze talent points by hacking a few dozen more drowners as well as buying/making the SPECTER OIL...a big mistake I just realized which will cost me the last 30 mins of gametime. Anyways kinda sucks that once you talk to the priest dude to conclude the lil 'outskirt' quests, you can no longer buy anything(even tho that bloody Abigail b*tch is just standing there! grr..).
So keep that in mind when you are ready to fight the beast.
About the only flaw in this game, how the difficulty ramps up Insanely. The first couple hours are a cakewalk, never even dropped halfway in health fighting all the baddies and feeling like a badass. Then I keep getting my ass handed to me by the Beast. Guess maybe I should've specialized in combat more instead of branching out? Kinda sucks tho, when even alchemy is a pretty badass feature(the one time I've said that about ANY game).

So this actually seems to be the best polish game up to date, if not the only playable. I was seriously expecting something utterly shitty (since when games based on books/movies are good?).

Beast took me a couple tries. Next time I ran away from it and took out all the green ones really quick then my telekenesis or whatever it's called had a chance to stun him, so it did then I ended up doing a finishing move on the fucker. What I hated is you had to restart the whole cutscene over and over again.

Most bosfights are hard. It's natural really, the beast is a fearsome spirit, so it's very hard. The Barghest are just puppies, so they're easy. I don't really get the complaining about it.

SpykeZ is right! That was pretty damn annoying.
I'm playing the game on hard and the Beast took me about 10 tries.
It was really hard because of the Pain effect that it uses on you, which is fine!
BUT, as SpykeZ said, everytime you die in that fight you gotta restart from the autosave from leaving the cave, meaning you gotta go through all the dialogue with the villagers again and again.
I finished it eventually using a blizzard potion as well as some other crazy stuff. Was a pretty cool battle overall.

So is hard much harder than normal? Do you often have problems?

Awesome, great, game! Not to demanding either works fine, just fine on my rig I suppose the only drawback is the exploration a shame it's not 'open' like Gothic of course I haven't reached that exploring point yet so I can't say for sure.
How can I decapitate someone with the finishing move every time I want to do it more often or is it random, maybe if I click with the mouse higher up?

Yay ! Game is awesome. Yeah, there are still bugs, like this Beast and no save to prepare.
But quest and talks sometimes makes me laugh. Like when you are in warehouse and you're going to slash few thugs... when one of bad guys says to the guard: You're guard, you will watch this ? - No, i am leaving... muhahaha....
I bought game and I must say I didn't have so much fun for quite a long time. But still I got clone mounted in DT... I couldn't stand my dvd drive speeding and slowing at each load...

they gotta be stunned it seems. if you use your telekinesis it has the chance of stunning them, then go hit them and it'll do it's move

I have no idea how much harder it is because I never played the game on normal.
I do have to use potions and signs a lot to survive.
