As far as I'm concerned the decryption algorithm is not in the current version of steam. If you got that to work, tell me please.
Most files are encrypted, only a few, required for css, are decrypted. I am not sure whether they use a different algorithm for hl2; if not, it shouldn't be that hard to compare a few locked and unlocked css files or play a trick on steam to try something out. But it gets harder with every line they add in their assembler code. And even if they used only a few XOR and SHL operators, it would be hard.
We will see.

Depends on the license. As far as I remember, everything prior to WinXP, you actualy owned (the OS I mean). Now it's pretty much "well you dont own shit, we're just kind enough to let you use it".

Yeah I hate that shit. I went to go install MS Works that came with my sister's comp on my comp. Install it, enter the cd-key and it's like this key is already in use. I'm just like WTF I own it. MS is gay with all that one per computer shit. It's just a way for them to get more money. Especially from schools who need it.

So what gives you the right to have the same software on your comp? you didn't buy it. So by the same analogy you have the right to watch a movie she's seen at the cinema using her ticket stub because she already paid for it. Get real dude.

Uhhh I did buy it. I own it. I'm 16 and my sister is 20. My parents payed for both computers. It came with the computer and it wasn't free. And no I don't have the right to see a movie that she saw with the same ticket stub. It's totally different. You get real. You know what forum you're at? It's a piracy forum!

I do have a firewall. I use Zone Alarm. Doesn't matter though. I already had Works but she had a newer version and I just reinstalled XP. But after installing the newer version I could only use Word like 60 times. I just downloaded Office 2003 and installed that.

Here's the latest news from
www.computerandvideogames.com
A BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) spokesperson has confirmed with us within the last few minutes that the government body is indeed in possession of Half-Life 2. However, they could only add at this stage that the first-person shooter is "under evaluation", as far as certification is concerned.
And what, you're no doubt wondering, does Vivendi have to say about all this? Well, actually so are we at the moment. We'd like to report, but at the time of going to press the publisher remained unavailable for comment.

GameSpot wrote: | RUMOR #1: Half-Life 2 is gold. Really. No foolin'. Honest.
Source: If we told you, we'd have to kill you.
The official story: Both VU Games and Valve declined comment.
What we heard: Ever since the release candidate for Half-Life 2 was submitted to VU Games in mid-September, a piñata has hung in the lobby of Valve's headquarters. The plan: to bust the sucker open when the game achieved gold status. Earlier today, GameSpot learned from an informed sourced that "the piñata has been broken" and the game has gone gold. Further evidence of the game's completion was a press release issued this afternoon touting the first review of "the entire game." Though nothing official has been announced yet, it appears the fat lady is at last clearing her throat.
Bogus or not bogus?: Not bogus. |
