dang, i preordered this to get the Founders deal, but so far subscriptions have been disabled because people in EU are having problems.

it would be just typical if they sold out while i was at work...

i forget, does this game have any single player campaign, or bot-match type single player or anything, or is it pure online like world of whorecraft?

What a waste of 7GB lol...

I played the beta and it's awesome. Of course, if you're suffering from short attention-span and loath games with RPG-elements then this game is not for you. This is more for gamers who love Diablo, hacking demons, finding stash, upgrading equipment and weapons etc. Wink

It is only avaiblable to those that preordered... I wouldnt be too worried if I were you.
I am getting the founder's offer as well. Out of the people that did preorder, some cancelled, and then you have a percentage that won't go founder's and another percentage that won't subscribe at all. I think there will be plenty to go around.

For you maybe... I just sat playing this thing for 8 hours straight online... was great fun.
Most fun i have had in a really long time actually. Course, it helps that my stepson and I get along great and he likes it as well so i am always going to hagve someone to group with. Grouping changes things dramatically.

Course, if you don;t like blowing shit up, killing creatures non stop, and collecting loot, then it probly wont float your boat.

I found My halloween stuff tonight... the visage helmet and the zombie pet thingie. the visage helmet is pretty cool and worth finding. Zombot is just something to look at really and not much use.

Well... witcher doesnt have multiplayer... single player wise witcher blows it out of the water for sure. this game isn't worth a shit fior the single player game.

hmm... well, thats been kinda of the whole point of the game since it was ever first metnioned from "The makers of Diablo I and II".

What they are shooting for is evolving it over time with raid content, in game email, and other shit you would typically find in any mmo.

Nobody was boasting, it was just mentioned that it will be implemented. DII never had it, but this one here will, so yeah, nothing big.

Man I love this game. For all the WoW nerds: Guess what just happened in game? It was totally awesome. This demon threw a fireball at me... and... I pressed A to strafe out of its way and the fireball flew right past me! Isn't that awesome? It's like... hand-eye coordination is actually required to survive!!! Isn't that great?

Of course, if you enjoy pushing two buttons all the time while sleeping/grinding, this game is nothing for you, go back to WoW. But stop bashing it because you actually have to pay attention Razz

yea i dont get people not liking this game, but hey, whatever. after Bioshock and NWN2, its nice to see a kick ass RPG with multiplayer at its core come out with no compromises so they can sell it on the 360.

this and World in Conflict are awesome PC games. Hellgate reminds me ALOT of Diablo 2, only 3D and using a sci-fi theme, lots of fun here.

One question: is it fun in SP mode? Is there a storyline or anything? Or just some mindless buttonmashing?

There's a story albeit not at the same quality as bigger RPG titles.
(Just follow the quests and it will be revealed.)

Just entered "Charing Cross Station" which is the third station one visits and it's were I ended the beta due to several issues (BSOD, Crashes and memory leaks.) and the game really picks up in this section with much better gear and more interesting enemies and enviroments. Smile
(Takes a few hours to reach as well, if you do all the other quests.)

Sadly the game "auto-saves" only when you exit it or when you progress so you can't save manually, had a crash due to the game still eating alot of ram and I lost my progress.
(Primary computer awaiting motherboard replacement so it's the secondary computer - AMD-X2 4400+ 7800GTX X-FI 2GB-DDR2 800, XP SP2 all updates, latest drivers.)

Didn't like the character I played that much though but it was mainly a test build.
(Guardian, first character I had in the beta and mainly defensive compared to the blademaster which is mainly offensive.)

EDIT: Seems I posted a little late.

The voice acting is rather crazy though.

Me: ...
Shopkeeper (3rd station, Charing Cross): Is that a broadsword in your pocket or are you just happy to see me.
Me: ... (Your character doesn't really say anything.)

Me: ... (Returning after a quest.)
Shopkeeper: Can I touch your sword that shoots beams?
Me: ... (Still doesn't say anything. )

The text can also be a bit strange at times and the above is much rarer in multiplayer after the previously mentioned "Patch 0" update.
(Need to built a Zombot before Nov 4th when the free Halloween event ends. )

I am having a great time with this game. Diablo is right!!! This game has many Diablo aspects to it. The Engineer is kickass! I love building shit. I am always the Engineer in TF2 too. I built this robot companion that floats around me and electrocutes beasties!!! It has a mean grin face on it, hilarious! I am at work now, very sad and cannot wait to get home and play more. I just got to the Covenant Station in SP and spoke to Brandon Lann. As soon as I did that exclamation points popped up over everyone's head. Many quests to be had. I ran into some Diablo-esque demons that spewed a ton loot and special items when I killed them. I also have 3 other floating inhibitor robots that slow down the progress of oncoming demons. The graphics are great. Who ever compares this to The Witcher is completely off base. They are two completely different games. The Witcher is a great, GREAT game with bad load times. This is Diablo in 2007 with more content and more possibilities for game play and replayability. The opening movie was really good too. You could make a movie out of this story! Their suites of armor remind me of a villain Spawn fought back in his earlier comics. I think his name was the Redeemer?!
I don't understand how you could hate this game? You can do it like Diablo, hack and slash or you can still do it like Diablo but with big time guns!!!! So far first person is the view I enjoy the most. But it is cool to zoom out and see everything around you including your robots wreaking havoc!! If I was a Templar I would be in 3rd person for sure. But being a gun wielding Engineer, the 1st person works really well.
Having someone to play this with online would be incredible fun! If I don't see any cracked servers go up then I will end up buying this game, it's worth it. Just have to find the green.

This game is fun, that is all there is to it!! Also, you get that warm, old, buddy feeling like I use to have when I played Diablo and Diablo II LoD for 8 hours day. Always killing and hoping for a great drop. Ahh, those were the days! Wait, they are still the days!!! Smile

Yes it is, but when someone comes in here and bashes the game because of (insert gay it's-not-like-it's-in-WoW reason here) I think I have a right to just bash back. Now take your verbal slander somewhere else.

clragon wrote:

A shared stash for your characters is supposedly a subscriber feature and/or has yet to be implemented. You could also just give the item to a friend and this friend hands it to your second character.

Oh sorry, i forgot to say that i didn't play it online. Games for me are mostly about SP campaign because i like to see where goes the imagination of the devs, etc
And i didn't like it...

I forgot to say that i played it in Vista and had some problems. For it to start it made me download a patch for Vista from Microsof lol Razz
Then when i started it, the same thing appeared 2 or 3 times like for example "Nvidiaaaaaaaa the way it meant to be played!" Laughing
And then in the game, i tried to activate dx10 because i have a 8600GT but the game would crash every time Laughing
