supposed to be really really bad.
and honestly i cant stand the new wave of vietnam games. no matter how hard they try, they can never glorify this war. doesnt matter that the vc are more stupid than a bunch of 3 year olds, doesnt matter that the enemy hides in the villages so you have to burn all huts down and so on and so on...its just to stupid and i cant find entertainment in it. even if it is a game.
sorry did not mean to turn this political, just think some of theese games are bad taste. and this game is suposedly even bad executed.

Demo for the Xbox wasn't too bad but the multiplayer demo for PC was pure crap.

Actually this game has been getting the best reviews out the all the Vietnam games released recently. It's getting much bettter reviews than Shellshock NAM and Conflict: Vietnam. It's not like the best scores but most of them are around 7-8.

Geez. I thought it was alright for a fps on the Xbox. My roomate has an Xbox too (modded by me as mine is) and I have a crossover cable so I should try coop with him.

this really isnt a bad game, i've been playing for a couple of hours and i'd say it's the best FPS for the xbox so far, riddick might be a bit better.. but heck, this one has co-op and system link, that's one big plus..

They gave Shellshock Nam a 6 and this a 3? Although I agree with Shellshock being a 6 but Men of Valor is much better than that. I loved Fable I thought it should get a 9 not a 7. Sims 2 and Doom 3 I'd give around an 8.

Because it was a 'failed war' means that a game based on the vietname war can't be good? Does the same thing apply to movies as well? Did Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, etc. all suck because the war was a failure?
No... It's because game designers too often try to glorify the war. Make it something that it wasn't (a win). If they'd just concetrate on the reality of the war then they could still make a satisfying war game (simulation) experience using the vietnam war as the background.
Don't blame the war.. blame the man. Err.. yah.

Nope.. nor did it work for any number of BAD vietnam movies either (see: Hamburger Hill). But, the point is... is that it's possible, if the director/writer (or in this case.. game makers) do a good job.
