Installed, played a couple mins. Promptly uninstalled. At least it only took 1/100th the time to uninstall it. So that's a bonus.
I have it for 360. I just wanted to try it out to see if it will look any better than the 360 version. Unfortunately it is pretty dull looking. I played with all settings maxed at 1920x1200. Smooth framerates. But just ho hum. Feels like a port through and through. Dull colors and lighting just felt too bland.

ok thanks mate,i will go upgrade my Gigabyte mobo chipset driver now since they have a new one released in oct . hope this will do it if not then i think i will go for x2600xt card.
game is awesome. |
no no no no 8800GT is the only thing your getting mister. ATI is crap atm compared to nvidia. |
i used to be a nvidia user but since buying ati i will never look back until they sort out their software & add the auto settings for both desktop & 3D applications similar to ati's catalyst.

If you rename install shield a new folder will be created -- sometimes solves weird installer issues. I haven't had a chance to install this game yet so if it doesn't even use install shield, save the flames for someone else. Just trying to help. |
I'll try that now. It uses Installshield alright, but won't work. Thanks for the help anyway.

Online, no. Not without an official Key, however LAN does work.

I also would highly recommend the 8800gt over an ati card currently. You are really getting your monies worth from it. I understand your concerns but it just seems slightly more reasonable to get more bang for your buck.

for all who wants to change there default installation folder from c: to any other free drive here are the steps :
Go to Start -> Run:
Type RegEdit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
On the right side is something called: ProgramFilesDir
*Write down the current path of the ProgramFilesDir, you'll need to change it back after install*
Change this value to a drive that contains 7+ gigs of space
Install GOW
*Go back into the Registry, to ProgramFilesDir, and change it's value back to what it originally was.*
Don’t mess up your registry by doing anything else.

Gears Of War [PCDVD9] [Multi5] 7,39 Gb....seems to be the same as clonedvd thermpylae...
that was nuked for no eng inside...but can be spa/it/fra/de/??

Can't even tell its a port, its very good. Performance is top-notch, the loading times are very fast.. Gameplay is tedious, but i'll play a few levels just to check out the amazing graphics (this impressed me even more than the Crysis demo). It's good for what it is i guess, but it isnt my cup of tea any longer so...

Wow! This is a great game. I never played the X360 version. This is a lot of fun and the graphics are unreal! How you could ever play this game with a controller is beyond me! The mouse/keyboard combo is so good and natural for this game. I like the way the grenades are done. The cover feature is very addicting! The settings are very realistic and look like we got our asses kicked yet we are still around to fight. The blood, what can I say about the blood.....excellent and a lot of it!! Also, I killed my first guy with the chainsaw and it was SWEET!! "Ah, I got some in my eye" Love it!! LOL!
I had no problems at all. I had the 169.01 driver installed and it would freeze on me. I installed the 169.04 beta driver and all is fixed now and it runs smooth at 1680x1050 with everything maxed except I have shadows at low. Also, I was able to start a game in COOP mode! I didn't play with anyone but it started and I was able to kill the first few guys!
Great game number 6 in the past month!! LOL!! What a great night it was last night for gaming!!

its a good game if u never played it before, but it looks not much better then 360 at least not what i can remember but its a port so who expected we should be thankful we get some extra levels the 360 owners havent got so.
