What CoD4 lacks in realism and sometimes common sense it more than makes up in intense firefights and overall spectacular presentation.

Tbh im blown away by this game. I haven't been keeping up to date with it at all, the first and only vid/trailer i saw was the official one when this thread opened pretty much. And well, Im loving it.
Graphics are excellent.. not Crysis but still, damn fine and SMOOTH (unlike Crysis). It seems like a well polished game imo. I think I am about half way through, Pripyat sniper mission..
anyway.
| Spoiler: | OMG how good was the nuclear explosion lead up? saving the pilot, then getting on the chopper, seeing the guy fly away then WHAM. And the sequence afterwards was quite disturbing, you could really feel the atmosphere and the fear which must have been going through the Jackson's head.
Also, the Sniper mission in the gilly suits. it was so amazing! i was getting nervous over a god damn game  anyone else lying in that grassy field shitting their pants for a min before realizing "its only a game?" |

wow... just installed the game... this game REALLY makes me appreciate just how hugely ahead of the pack crysis's visuals are...
but this game also made me appreciate how nice it is to have a good fps count... 60 with everything turned up to max at 1280x800 and 2x fsaa.. wonder what fps ill get if i go pu to 2560x1600...
edit: bah, 40 fps... back to 1280 i go.

Crysis is like the tip of the iceberg graphically, with my rig i reach steady frame's, with crysis with everything very high apart from postprocessing which is just at high, havent applied AA to it yet, but i will, as for this game, from what i hear, beautiful game, an action-packed too,

Hi guys i have a problem and so does a friend ,we both get up or past the sniper lvl it goes to load a lvl with a big fairestwheel but i get error and it crashes any ideas ?
If you find any spelling of grammar mistakes keep them i have plenty

yeah so far the cinematic style is pretty close to crysis, so thats really great... i miss not having a body though... i find it kinda silly that games are trying to be more and more immersive, yet ultimately decided to go with the 'floating ghost' angle... *shrugs*
its kinda weird though, i mean yes the game does look really nice, but i cant help and notice how barren and simplistic the backgrounds look in comparison... crysis has spoiled me, lol 
but so far its a fun game... one question though... why is the main dudes name 'soap'? is it because everyone gets a piece of him in the shower?

i am enjoying the more realistic (note, MORE realistic, in comparison with most war fps games) tone of the game, where it only takes 1 or 2 bullets, not 30, to kill someone... its very vicerally satisfying, unlike most games... you really feel more relaxed every time you pop one of the guys off, rather than how it is in crysis where you get no blood and no satisfaction... and theres lots of nice touches, like a wounded guy lying on the ground will take out a pistol and fire some shots off at you, or a guy with a rocket launcher i just nailed, fell backwards firing a rocket into the sky... yeah, its not as graphically pleasing by any means as crysis is (like ive said, visually, crysis has spoiled me for atleast a year..), but for great gameplay this game is great.

not too many cracked servers about =(
fucking steam and their 12th... im gonna call a local gameshop when they open in some hours if they have it in stock.
only got to play an hour-ish of mp, but it seemed fucking solid.

Game was fantastic all along even the epilogue.i always were a cod fan (the only fps i ever played online except mohaa).COD4 sp is so well made that pisses me even more it's got half the duration of cod2. How do you make something so good and decide ok let's stop making levels now and let them wait for the next one which will take 2 more years.
MP is great as well ... it has achievements and custom perks and whatnot but only prob is that is easily exploitable.I can get in a server with a friend..he will let me kill him 100000 times with any weapon i want ,with any number of headshots and then go ingame with all the things that make me have an advantage (not huge but still) over other ppl.
Edit: and for those comparing it to the crysis demo seriously go look at some photographs of beautiful landscapes cause that's the only thing that game gave me compared to cod4.If the full game is good i will take it back but the low performance crap i played is nothing compared to cod4.

i dont think anyone here as compared this to crysis in anything OTHER than graphics.
side note: just shot someone on my side and got told friendly fire is not tolerated... im playing as an american soldier for fucks sake, of course it is if your american dammit. this game just blew any realism it had going for it, right out the window.
