The tutorial was long? It's like 5minutes - tops. As for being pointless - respectfully disagree as there are more than a few bits of information they toss in that you need to know before running off all wily nilly. Would you eventually figure out the Low/High Profile action - sure. But beyond that I can imagine someone skipping something and reading a tutorial later on and thinking "Oh hell, I didn't know you could do that". Or "Oh, so THATS why they're outlined in yellow".
The game so far is fun. This seems like the next step from the folks who brought us Price Of Persia.
My only complaint has to do with folks ruining the surprise in the beginning. Sure its the FIRST thing you see, but it would have been a nice surprise once you started the game.

I have a Samsung drive using Memorex discs, Pioneer 112 as well. I just burned to some crappy media I had laying around. I'll let you know if that helps.

Only problem I am seeing is some texture errors and disappearing NPC's that seem to go away on a reboot.

I've made a playtest for Ubisoft this summer, 35hours walkthrough this game and it's totally candy. Game was still on beta phase and there was lot of bugs but to what I can say, 20 hours for the game(if you don't hunt those inevitable flags) seam to be fair for an average gamer. My experience is : Investigations in the game sucks big time, eavesdropping, intimidation and pickpocket. Way too easy, way too redundant. Graphics were number one and control were pretty easy to take in hands. Fights are sometime quite strange (the lock system could use some improvement at the moment i've test it) but still pretty funny to get. The towers hunt (when you go up in towers, you'll discover a piece of the map) is cool and the view from there is very nice, often too easy but some are very challenging (that cathedral in Jerusalem I think is quite impressive). One point I've hated is after each mission (there is 9 mission in total), you're always bring back to crew headquarter which is far from all 3 citys, you'll have to make a lot of horseriding between each mission. The scenario is very good (I can't tell that much about this because 1-Spoilers and 2-bugs make me miss some cutscene). In conclusion, I just want you to know that I'm not a native english speaker and this is why I make such mistakes so sorry about that...

The Horse ridining is annoying between missions, and pointless. This game has been rushed out at the end, it is not ready.

Yeah, I'd be interested to know that too.
I see some guys have problems running this release on their NTSC machines... well, it works fine on my NTSC box with Verbatim media + Pioneer 111D @ 2.4x speed.

Played another couple of hours and I have to say I am still not enamoured of this game. It is BORING.
Ride a horse to a city
See the Bureau Chief, get 3 places to visit
Eavesdrop, pickpocket, Mug someone, same every time
Back to see Bureau chief
Get assasination target
Assasinate target
Back to see Bureau chief
Back to you boss's HQ, get new weapon/ability
REPEAT!
DULL..........was expecting an epic and got a damp squib, will play more to see if it improves but I am mega pissed off.

The way you look at it all games are boring. Call of Duty 4, only about killing people.. BORING!! Grand Theft Auto, only getting missions from an NPC again and again.. BORING!!

Played this game for about 3 - 4 hours now in total and it is SERIOUSLY good. So much extra you can do in the game also apart from the main story line, like hidden packages and good deeds.
Also, working fine on a Xtreme 5.2 Samsung DVD Xbox 360. Aone 8x full-face printable discs with Pioneer 112D @ 4x, not jumps or anything.
