Fix Notes
~~~~~~~~~
Here's a fix for the gambling minority of you crazy enough to use Vista, and
on top of that, to use the x64 version. The fix is an OS-dependent one and
not related to the protection in any way. Actually we played the whole game
before releasing it to make sure it was fine, although it's really hard to
test every possibly configuration out there.
Unpack the .rar into your game dir and overwrite any existing files. Update
the shortcut on your desktop if you plan on running the 32-bit version.
Of course we included a crack for the x64 binary as well.
By the way, the final boss is as big as Manhattan!
Game Notes
From the makers of Far Cry, Crysis offers FPS fans the best-looking, most
highly-evolving gameplay, requiring the player to use adaptive tactics and
total customization of weapons and armor to survive in dynamic, hostile
environments including Zero-G. Earth, 2019. A team of US scientists makes a
frightening discovery on an island in the South China Sea. All contact with
the team is lost when the North Korean Government quickly seals off the area.
The United States responds by dispatching an elite team of Delta Force
Operators to recon the situation.
* A unique three-act structure forces the player to use real-time armor and
weapons customization to adapt constantly to an ever-changing world.
* Encounter a frightening and totally original alien species—they use their
senses intelligently and work together to present the most challenging
enemy yet in an FPS.
* Control of a variety of land, sea, and air vehicles including trucks,
tanks, boats, and helicopters.
* Explore a living, dynamic world where earthquakes, breaking ice,
landslides, and tornados pose an ever-present threat.
* 32-player multiplayer with real-time armor and weapons customization, plus
an all-new multiplayer mode that combines player modification and tactical
objectives.
* Emergent gameplay means that in-game actions affect future outcomes and
give each player a unique experience.
* Highly robust and easy-to-use mod toolset allows players to create their
own expansive levels for both multiplayer and single-player modes.
* The CryENGINE 2 engine delivers the most realistic environments,
spectacular special effects, physics game engine, lighting system, and
enemy Al.
Hmm, I'm only getting about 20 fps, and often less, I have been playing for 3 hours but it's not very fun when it chops all the time
My Rig: Core2Duo E6300 Clocked at 2.0 Ghz, 2 Gb ddr2 ram Radeon x1950 Pro agp 512 Mb Vram, windows xp and latest Cat 7.10 driver. I don't get it as the demo ran better (not great but playable). Btw. the game sets my system for medium details.
Somebody help me!!
Btw. Call of duty 4 runs flawless with everything on high
yes, but cod4 doesnt have an island with shitloads of bushes, trees, plants etc...
Far Cry was better optimized, because it had the same open spaces as Crysis and the graphics were up to par with Doom 3's claustrophobic levels and Half Life 2's constant level loading.
Let's face it, this is an overhyped game for graphic whores.
I can play CoD4 (which pwns btw) at full graphic detail and enjoy it fully. Crysis lags like a drunk donkey even on medium settings (which are worse than CoD4 high)
Do explain to me how can you compare on rail FPS with buildings acting like corridors and open space with flora and fauna,sea and drivable vehicles? COD doesnt even come close to Crysis in GFX department. You should compare COD with JERICHO. That would work.
CoD4 isn't a 100% rail FPS like Jericho and Timeshift. It has its fair share of open space (with huge viewing distance) and usually alternative routes. Also the graphics/animations/effects rock hard, a level about Jericho. (I play all these at highest, btw)
First of all, I run a dx9 system with winxp sp2, c2d e6600 asus 8800gts 640mb..
Last night I installed and played crysis for an hour or two, it was amazing..
Today after work when I load it up, it looks like crap, first of all, there is no depth of field anymore?? I've tried rebooting my computer, resetting everything to low/medium and back to high again, changing resolutions etc.. Can't get depth of field back, and to be honest the game looks loke fuck without it (ie no antialiasing)
Ideas?
The console command for that would be "r_DepthOfField x" where the x is either 0, 1 or 2.
(0 probably disables it, unsure what 1 is and 2 is what it's set to when you select high/very high settings such as modifying the config files via various guides on sites like InCrysis or running on Vista/DX10.)
EDIT: Just in case you settings are damaged you might want to delete the "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My documents\My Games\Crysis\game.cfg" file and then start the game again to re-detect your settings.
Hmm, Ofcourse Crysis is a more demanding game than COD4, but my system should meet the requirements, and the game automaticly suggests medium setting for my comp, so that's why I'm a little dissapointed, oh well, perhaps Ati is gonna release a Crysis driver soon.
Btw. I have discovered that lowering the object details to low makes a huge improvement, and I'm still able to run with all the other settings on medium and some even on high BUT! it still slows down considerably when large firefights are happening in the open.
Ps. Yes, the alien levels looks amazing, but now I'm stuck at some big alien window where i can see the invation army on the move, can't seem to find the exit.
P.S.: What the hell is your signature all about ?
Ok its youre opinion and i respect it.
Here is video to my sig so you can understand it bettar.
I have a 7850 GT, C2D @ 3.1, 2 gig Ram, XP Sp2. Im running the game at 1680 x 1050 (monitors native res) and getting about 26-30 fps. I have shaders set to low, shadows med, particles med, water med, and everything else high. Does my frame rate sound about right? The auto detect in the game sets everything to high but I only get 10-15 fps. Any suggestions on improving it without sacrificing too much quality? Any help would be very much appreciated.
How do I get this game to start with the 64-bit exe? I got the vista x64 fix, 169.04 beta drivers, and deleted the intro movies. It still doesn't work. I just get a black screen and when I finally alt-tab it says "Crysis has stopped working" But it doesn't give me more detail than that. 32-bit works fine.
This is what happend to my install after i ran the gpu benchmark. XP 32bit SP2 (Razor1911)
What GFX card do you have?
Know a lot of people with ATI cards that have problems looking like that, but then it works to increase "shaders" in the options to get rid of the problem.
Weird, I am playing on winxp 32. I use High details and the fps is around 45. In the beginning of the game I didn't have any problems but now I am in the alien levels my pc crashes alot on the same moments. For example when I am in the Mine at the elevator it crashes at the same time. When I put the details on Low, the pc doesnt' crash. I watched the temperatures etc on those moments and it's not high.
yeah, for me now too. I guess it was just some random fuck-up.
And speaking of random fuck-ups. I had a pretty laggy game for the past 30 minutes and thought that maybe it s a memory leak or similar, but no, it s windows fuckin update, asking me to reboot. Although i SPECIFICALLY set it to not install anything without my approval! Friggin microsuck...
I've found out now when I put shaders quality on medium I don't have crashes but it also has a big impact on the eye candy. I don't get it at all I play the game fine on High settings everything 45 fps avg. But later on in the game I am crashing alot especially in the snow. I played all lvls till the mine with High settings never had problems. Now I do:(
i think i have a heat problem, i was messing around with sandbox checking the multiplayer levels and i noticed my motherboard temperature was higher then my video card temp, the video card idles at 60c (dam gts) and the motherboard idles at like 42c yet it gets hotter then the video card when playing
this bs started when i put an AMD 6400+ in, i think im going to have to go back to the 4200+
maybe thats why i get random auto reboots when im playing, being in Florida doesn't help either
on low settings and on high settings the game looks fine. runs like shit on high looks like shit on low. on medium settings however, almost all the textures are missing. all i can see are shadows and the shader effects. lights, glimmers and particles and whatnot.
