The guitar hero 2 wired usb guitar will work on the pc, just detects like a normal joystick/gamepad, you could play oblivion with it today if you wanted to, but its gonna be pretty hard lol Laughing .
Viper5000, my point is that the console versions of GH3 are already cracked, hence im wondering why the PC version isnt yet.

The Game is out and in stores as of today (the 10th). Seen quiet a few reports on various forums. Can't wait to try this one out (since my 360 broke). Hopefully I wont have to wait to much longer (wink wink).

No lol it will run on XP. Someone on scorehero.com reported he received it early and it works great. I hope there will be a Europe release soon, I am so gonna buy that one.

People have been picking this up since Friday so I'm kinda of confused there isn't a release here yet. After reading Gamespy's review where they said they got stuttering with a 8800 GTX, definitely need to try it out beforehand.

Is the problem that the game isn't out in Europe? Is that where the scene people do this stuff? I doubt there's any insane copy protection on this that's taking them this long to work on.

Yeah my friend got it, we're playing on my machine. Definite stuttering on the 8800 GTX, becomes unplayable on some guitar solos, and guitar was $10 more then they said it would be. Plus, they aren't selling guitars separately, even tho there is no shortage for PC guitars.

In conclusion: avoid.

The wired X-plorer Xbox 360 controller is supposed to work as well as the wireless Les Paul (for 360) assuming you have the special wireless adapter for PCs. The PS2 guitars will work if you map it with JoyToKey, but with most adapters you have to use the mouse as a whammy bar (I don't know if tilt works).

But, yeah, the MSRP for the X-plorer is only $10 cheaper than buying the game outright bundled with it ($60 vs. $70).

Is this stuttering an 8800 GTX specific problem, or does it mean that every card bellow that will be downright unplayable?

Don't really know. I know on the GS forums someone had an 8800 and said it was playing fine. I think you may need to play around with the resolution and graphics settings if you want it to run on lower cards.

I'll let people know how it runs on a low card like the 6800 but for whatever reason there's no torrent out yet so can't tell you till then.

The Explorer Guitar that comes with the PC version is the same that came with GHII for Xbox 360. So if you have the guitar and happen to stumble across the game, then you could play it. The game does have a cd-key, so there would be no online play, unless you are using your legit copy. The key is only used to setup your online account.

I successfully backed the game up, by using Alcohol 120% and burning to a DVD+R(burn rmps data) .I could not get the game to run using daemon tools alone(blacklisted). Even tried Pr0t.stop and Yasu. Who's knows. Maybe this will make it to the usual places without a key (wink wink).

Not surprising I guess. Need a group like HATRED or RAZOR1911 to bust out a crack. I guess they haven't had time to do it before with games like Crysis, UT3, and GoW all showing up in the past week. They need some well deserved rest now but I still hope someone does GH3 soon.

I saw your release on torrents, but can i play it without actual guitar? i think it will be stupid to play such things on a keyboard

It would be nice if they released a demo of this 1st, but there's not much sense in that since nobody would have the guitar, to see if it would run ok on peoples machines. I have a 8600GT and if it wont run on an 8800 looks like a lot of people aren't going to be able to run it.

This game needs higher specs than Crysis Razz

A toy guitar is not stupid? Laughing

The time some people spend with this game they could've learned to play a real guitar instead.. Its even more challenging, but just as fun and so much more satisfactory in the end..

I just bought a Wii and also picked up GH3! Wow, this is a great experience. I completely suck at it but my kids are Jimmy Paige and Eddie Van Halen big time. Great game, I hope they release more songs and make them able for download with Wii points.

This has been out for a week almost and still no crack? Did they implement some insane copy protection for this game? Pretty confusing considering Crysis, Gears of War, and UT3 came out so fast.

Only the PoD can provide a working crack for GH3
