Overhyped game of the year (biggest letdown): Bioshock

Imo GOTY games: Jericho (atmosphere in this game is very nice), Stalker and Crysis

Bought 2 of these games and unfortunately Bioshock is one of them Sad

Depends how you class it surely the game you have clocked the most hours enjoying should be your GOTY.

If you nominate an rpg your a no life brain dead tard imo.
Rpg fanboys should be culled at birth.

Haha this must be a joke Smile

I have never played those soccer games but i once saw someone play it and i felt like vomiting.

Rpgs are by far the most interesting games to play on pc imo.

Unfortunately this year there is no GOTY in RPG.

This is pretty much an awful year, all the shooter games are either console-like or are just really not fun. 99% of the discussion on all those new shooters revolves around system requirements =/

The witcher was really bad, since you really had very little role playing and a lot of combat plus some boring gimmicks, it was like a bad version of NWN made in Russia or something

Hellgate london is OK, and Diablo 2 was hated upon release too, so
I'm sure Hellgate london will grow onto people.

and TF2 is OK, but I really hate the source engine, it feels so slow.

possible but I don't care much for online shooters. Only one I really enjoyed playing since BF1942 was quake wars and that was because it focused on team play and rewarded you for doing so instead of just seeing who can get the higher kill count. Plus just killing over and over again gets old, I'll do FEAR combat if I wanted that.

Now that being said I guarantee some dumb ass will come in here flaming me for not fanboying it so.... I WASNT TALKING DOWN THE FUCKING GAME.

TF 2 really pushes you to be team oriented. You can't be a rambo like in previous TF versions. If you don't play as a team, you loose and this is stronger in TF 2 than most team games out there.

I'm not begging you to try it lol, but it's worth the try because I can guarantee you will laugh and almost certainly find a class that suits you. It might not be the deep game of progression and 1337ness but it's very good for it is. Smile

P.S: I wasn't asking you because you said something bad about the game...

I agree, except for source being slow(!?) i find it fast even on older systems but i hate the loading which makes it kind of slow if thats what you mean.

..and Witcher.. I dont really know what kind of ppl who acctually love this game.. Its not fun for its combat (its dull even as "hack'n'slash" and there's no tactics if your the tactics-guy), exploring isnt any fun since the areas are very linear/restricted (no jumping/climbing/diving), character generation is very limited so hardcore RPG-fans probably wont like it. Same old clichés except for the "adult" content (14-17 year olds probably go wild over the cartoon-boobies and swearing but a person over 30 like myself isnt likely to..)

And most/all FPS's except for STALKER (hybrid) had "MADE FOR TEH STUPID!" stampled all over it (even UT3 GUI is a fucking joke).. Gears of War, lolz, what a POS game, console people have no taste, COD4 meh, watch a fucking movie instead because its just as linear and you'll have better story/"GFX"/characters/everything)

I don't make a habit of responding to game critiques, after all its all just opinion anyways. But in this case, since you go out of your way to attack ppl who like the game(you yourself sounding like a 5th grader, I might add), I will bother responding.

First off, if you are over 30, you should have the patience to play a game through a few levels/areas before jumping to conclusions. Sounds like either you read others' opinions of the game and made them your own or played a few minutes and tossed it aside. Especially since you think the game is linear, which like 90% of games it is very linear in the beginning, but quite the opposite as you venture along into later chapters. Not very 'adult-minded' to judge by early or other ppls impressions if you ask me.

Second, again if you actually had experienced the gameplay, tactics are very much involved in the game. Just try making it through the game with hard/medium with the wrong alchemy concoctions, I dare you. Or randomly assigning talent points? You would be lost. Just because a game doesn't have the word 'TACTIC' written all over it in easy to comprehend lettering, doesn't mean it doesn't involve them.

Third, just because a game involves nudity and swearing doesn't mean it should be written-off as childish. I know this is hard to imagine with all the fan-fare surrounding such content, especially here in the US, but you would be surprised how naturally nudity(or 'cartoon-boobies') is accepted and embraced in media/art in countries. If you don't agree then this article is for you: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=ticket_to_hell

A 5th grader wouldnt even give critique, he'd say "it suxx". At least I made a serious effort trying to explain why i didnt like it. It's more childish to get all defensive like you did just now, claiming i have only played it for a few minutes / only listenting to others? Lame.. I only said i dont understand why people like it, "attacking" is a bit harsh, no? But I definetly hit a nerve here it seems Wink

I've done the first boss fight (beast). Stun/1-hit = dead. lol. ok it was the first boss so granted it would be easy, but still, the stun is just pure luck it has nothing to do with tactics (sometimes it'll work sometimes it wont).

I'm in the city (after the prison), which is a few hours into the game. The combat is just timing the hits and wow does it get dull quick. The bar fighting was totaly lame and far too easy. Oh, and i totally forgot to mention the loading times, plain awful. But what totaly kills the fun is the linearity of everything, cant go anywhere you like or solve problems differently. Kind of reminds me of how adventure games are (most), and i hate that..

Being stupid about not using the right potions or being a complete idiot spending tallents points at random? Sure it could happen, if you're 12 or if you've never played a RPG in your whole life. It's not as complex and difficult as you want to make it out to be. It was clearly the developers intent to make it easy to grasp (combat, character customization, controlls etc is just not very complex at all, which can be both good and bad).

The nudity/swearing isnt a problem really, i mean its built on a book and if the book has sex/swearing the game should have it too. But to me they were hyping it in a rather childish way, it'll probably sell a few copies more due to it though, so probably a good tactic.

Armed Assault is one of the best games ever.

Gears of war is the most buggy game EVER. Persons even suggesting that for "Game of the year" must have a serious mental disorder.

Bottom line is, you can't just bash one shitty game while praising another shitty game for GOTY title.

Armed Assault did work directly from the start. It had some bugs and were unoptimized before the first patches, yes.
But it worked and was playable.

Unlike the of historically magnitude worthless piece of shit Gears of war.
How many people haven't even got it to run, with all these "Runtime errors"?
And of the people who got it to run, how many had it crashing directly after?

So DON'T compare them. In fact, you can't compare Gears of war to anything at all. Hell, even the Challenger space shuttle and the Chernobyl nuclear plant worked a lot better than Gears of war.

So to even suggest that it would be "game of the year" is a really, really, really, really demented idea that can't come from ANY sane person who's not working for Epic themselves.

And even if Gears of war DID run and behave well, it's just a repetetive consol-ish "run, hide, shoot" game over and over again.
Armed Assault has no games like it, apart from it's own relative Operaration Flashpoint.

Tried it a month ago with the latest patch, same horrible performance, I have to turn everything down to almost lowest + the mouse is "floaty", totaly unbearable (I have a system that handles UT3 on highest and Crysis on Med/High)

Too bad because the game seems like fun, but performance is the worst i've ever encountered in a game, even tried a few different drivers.

I certainly don't respect your opinion on anything all you do is complain about every game looking at your posts.
Get a life and then perhaps every game will not be so boring to you.
