1. Bioshock - Atlas: Best Irish accent. Practically wet meself whenever he spoke, sounded like a North Dublin chav. Almost as good as the crew from Mc Devitts pub in Broken Sword.
2. The Darkness - Jackie Estacado: Allround just a well designed character you can relate to. The voice work by Kirk Acevedo was excellent.
3. Assassins Creed - Altair: Badass

So, does the anal intruder hurt, or did you get used to it?

I really wish people would stop making such a fuss of the Companion Cube from Portal. It's like a status symbol and 'cool' if you spout incessantly that you love it. Yes it was a funny section of a game, yes the idea of the Companion Cube was bleak and masterfully presented, but let it go for gods sake. Oh oh oh I think game character of the year should be the third tree from the left in Crysis!
The weighted companion cube is not a character, its a mildy amusing idea for a very short section in a video game. It was also very clever of them to put it in Portal because they knew 14 year olds would idolise it and try to gain 'cool' and mysterio points in their close circle of emo friends because they pretend to like it and people just don't understand them! non conformity! I love a fucking box! pathetic! but good advertising for the weak minded.
Anyway onto Real characters
Psycho - Crysis (nice to see a funny and positive brit character in a game)
Andrew Ryan - Bioshock (despite being plucked nearly directly from a rand book)
