Boy this is hard! One tuningkit cost 30K and I had 39K :/ Nice to start a grip race with 140hp car when there was a 450hp Corvette in the same lineup Very Happy Well hard is good and no way anyone will play thisone trought in 6-8H like Crysis Smile

I had to give in and put ABS back on, hard to brake with keyb when trying to drive so fast with inferior car Razz

Quoting my self.. But there is a reason, finally got anough money to get first engine & handling pack to my grip car. Tuned brake balance a bit (as it was horrid) and other stuff, no need for ABS any more and beat 250hp car with my 185hp version and really enjoyed driving the nissan 240sx. Can't wait do some more, seems like the car setup really has an effect and this is closing in to be sort of a GT4 of PC world.

Have you looked through the registry? That's where NFS games usually save settings.

Hm, try modifying the security options for entries you edited. Make them so no one can edit them. Maybe that will work.

Someone asked it before, do the tyres effect grip? Didn't see any indication, but tuned my "dragster" like this if they do. Try to guess which end spins the weels Very Happy

Didn't find a "no wing" option either as that cheavy has spoiler orginally, not like it would need it. ALso doesn't painting a car cost something? There are prices for part, but not for paint/vinyls and stuff. Before they have and more exotic paints even more. I'm not rolling in money, so I might leave them ugly if they do Smile

edit: painted again and kept track of my money, doesn't cost anything, sweet.

Wow didn't think id like this game so much, one of the best NFS's imho.

@ OnBoard

Paint jobs and vinyls don't cost anything, fortunately.

Changed my Chevy into grip car and the starting Nissan into the drag car. Won all the races up to this point. I'm almost done with battle machine.

Wish I'd thought of that, front wheel dragster is no good :/ Agree you with that one of the best NFS's even if I'm not far from the beginning. Noticed the paint thing after I asked, but TY anyway. Not much extra money, you get your crappy car looking nice at least Very Happy

Tyres themselved do effect grip, but the most important thing is the settings that are being unlocked in "Tune" after you buy aftermarket tyres, which tune grip on 3 or 4 different factors.

I said closing in, not is Smile Knew someone wouldn't like that sentence, but there isn't a lot in PC racing games, that isn't either arcade or simulation. Grip racing handling and parts tuning/setup just remind me of GT4. I hate PS2 640x480 resolution, so driving with PC with twice the resolution I can actually see the cars in the distance too helps as well. Even tracks seem similar, but there isn't any Nürburgring Nordschleifen in ProStreet, so it won't ever be GT4 Smile

just did my first speed race and i really enjoyed it Very Happy reminded me of how the nfs series used to be ages ago alittle with how fast you can go around all the corners and how the car can snap out a little when you know your really pushing it and you dont feel as though you car is glued to the track with super glow!

on some of the really fast sections the car bounced up and down a little as it left the road and it felt rather natural like they got the physics right there and there was a nice hill at one point which enabled my car to jump rather high into the air Very Happy

cant wait to be able to afford some of the super cars in the game so i can really get a sense of how the speed races are.

the other modes are pretty boring to me though

heh all these years ppl have complained about damage stuff in nfs and when they add it ppl complain like hell Very Happy

tbh damage and old nfs (most wanted/carbon) would never work unless you are a very good player Smile , with all the trafic and stuff Smile

imho i like it the more i play it but i do agree i would like open world but as nfs pro street is going away from arcade play too simulation this is more or less the price the game have too pay

You guys remember back when NFS was about cars you'd never own/drive that you dream about. It was all about super exotics with Point A to B tracks, awesome scenic locations, long straights mixed with great corners.

It's too bad that the series has been influenced so much by cultural trends but I can't blame them, they are only trying to approach the widest audience and make $ at that.

Well - I finally gave the full game a go. I am running with much lower settings and the stuttering appears to be gone. Now the only problem is the announcer is so damn annoying lol. Holy crap, I have never heard Ryan Cooper mentioned so many times in an hour. At any rate, the game is pretty fun. I personally prefer the more arcade driving style that most wanted had. Either way, I can see myself putting some hours into this one though.

I thought you could shut up the announcer via the audio settings.

EDIT: Oh for fuck's sake... Collector's Edition upgrade, $9.95, available via download:

Quote:
Five exclusive cars - the '01 Acura Integra LS, '05 Acura NSX, '06 Lexus IS350, '06 Audi RS4 and the '06 Pontiac Solstice GXP to complete your ultimate car collection.
Extend your racing experience - Four additional career race days.

Yeah... Nice. As if. Damn thing is you need to be connected to EA Nation when entering the promo code to unlock all that stuff, so there's no chance of the promo code leaking so that we could get those cars too.

Still, even if I wanted those cars anyway, I'd have to go through all the trouble of getting a pre-paid credit card, as here in Greece I haven't seen any boxed Collecotr's Edition.

No thanks.
