We are talking about dx 9 not dx 10 and this test is total bull since i have gtx and i dont have 35 FPS in DX 10 with everything on highest.

the test is not "total bull"... it's high settings not max...
but sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about DX9 max settings.

I really don't understand how you can claim it's bull, just because you don't get that high of fps. They may have just done the benchmarking in the jungle rather then the frozen area. As we all know the frozen/snowy areas are more FPS intensive. Also, the graphics card isn't the only part of a computer that gets you FPS. At any rate, I am done with this. Can't a person even say the game stutters and looks like shit on LOW SETTINGS without being harassed by someone? Apparently not... If you want to continue send me a pm, actually don't bother cause i could care less.. Bye.

I didnt stand in corner did i? I was in open space. Y it depends on what HW you got in but since i have faster cpu then they have and 4 gb of ram and same board then y i can call it bull.

you made a screenshot of the ice world, the benchmark I posted was from the first island, the demo actually, so it's obviously a tottally different situation.
on top of that those FPS are average throughout a benchmark, so there will most likely be spots in that benchmark where they had 15 fps, just like there were spots where they had 50 fps. Comparing the FPS of a single screenshots to an average of a benchmark of a totally different level is just absolutely useless and proves nothing.
I'm sorry, I'm not trying to piss you off or anything, but seriously, posting that screenshot made no sense. And why in hell would a reputable hardware website test a graphics card and post benchmarks that they made up? that's just ridiculous.

Why would you think i would get pissed? Im not belive me. I like to debate people. That pic was to show how much fps i have at that spot. In all game average i have is 30 fps but mostly its around 25 or lower depends whats going on.
@PIMPMPO you must aim TAC at hole. It will lock on.

You guys understand that for the most part all the benchmarks for this game have been done via the tools in the install folder? Those are suppose to demonstrate real world performance, I don't think any site has done a performance review using fraps etc.

i think it s the way you put your arguments. tbh, i havent seen any. Only "tech-demo" comments and "this game sucks". Nobody pointed a finger on why it actually sucks for them. Ok, now that i think about it, some said that the "a.i. totally sucks", but that s not much more detail.
So, if somebody that really hates the came could explain what is so damn sucky about it, i could sleep comfortably tonight  |

When a game is crap, it's easy to distinguish what makes it so, the crap qualities shine through. But when a game is spectacularly average, it's more difficult to identify what exactly makes it average.
So, like most people have said. The game isn't crap or 'sucky', most people don't hate it; beyond the usual crybabies who had their hyped up dreams smashed. The objective gamer can distinguish graphics from gameplay, and without it's graphics this game offers very little we haven't seen before in terms of gameplay.
So, nothing makes it crap. Nothing makes it exceptional either apart from the graphics, and that just isn't enough. In my opinion it's about a 70-75% game, which if people weren't expecting a 90%+ game would not have caused so many negative comments.

at least crysis has large open maps where you have actual freedom in deciding how to approach objectives (not like airborne for example where you really only had very little freedom)
that alone is worth a lot for me and makes it pretty exceptional. there's not many FPS games where you can do that.

yeah.. to be honest, it's quite unfair. thanks to nvidia naming their new card GT, people expected it to be not as fast as the GTS obviously.
A friend of mine wanted to upgrade his PC about 1.5 months ago and asked me to put together a system. His budget was around 800€ so a GeForce 8800 GTS 320 was the best choice at that point. I knew the GT was coming and expected it to be good for the price (but not this good), and asked him to wait until the crysis demo was out so we would have some better benchmarks available to see what card would really be the best choice.
Unfortunately he was in a hurry so we decided to just get the 8800 GTS 320.
Man.. I feel really bad now... if we would have waited just a few more weeks we could have got a GT for almost 60€ less, and yeah, the performance is just so much better.
But oh well, at least he's not a badass computer freak or anything (thats my job) so he doesn't mind that much. The 8800 GTS is really good enough for everything but crysis.
Pretty much all other games run just fine on those cards. of course, they're faster on a GT still, but they run good enough.

What people should do is read the internets before expecting anything. Have they read any previews or early reviews, they'd know GT was so so much better. |

Crysis only runs at two fps levels - it goes from:
You are actually moving in fucking reverse (negative frame rate) ----> 0.
If you manage to hit the 0 - consider yourself lucky.
Seriously, is the game fucking running an algorithm to find the cure for cancer in the fucking background without our knowledge? What the fuck.
I can change my settings from all HIGH 4xAA to all LOW 0xAA and makes FUCK ALL a difference in the FPS.
