Maybe if you didn't require another unbanned 360's keyvault that might actually be a useful hack. If it gets banned again both consoles get banned so you might aswell just buy another 360 and use that.

Commodore4eva has noticed a recent change in games with regards to the c/r timings. It appears to have started in games a few weeks before halo 3, that will give a slightly altered Security Sector file when ripped using a kreon drive. We have tried to replicate the error with a samsung drive in 0800 mode with no success.
This slightly altered data would be very easy to detect, and would enable microsoft to use as critera for bannings. We believe this is the result of the recent bannings.
We are still not sure if this was a intentional move by Microsoft's part, or a coincedental bug within kreon. As a side note, kreon will not give this altered data every time, but appears to happen randomly. Here is a list of a few games that appear to have the possibility of giving altered SS data when ripped with kreon:
Halo 3
Mass Effect
Call Of Duty 4
Spiderman friend or foe
Thrillville
Project Gotham Racing 4
NHL 08
Half Life 2 The Orange Box
Oblivion GOTY Edition
This is just a small list of findings so far. There will be a full list maintained as time goes on (likely found in the forum thread below).
Kreon, Redline99 and commodore4eva are all involved with this progress, so there will be a solution in the near future, whether its a kreon firmware, XBC, or firmware update to resolve the issue.
If you have recently been banned, and would like to confirm whether one of your backups has a bad kreon SS, please use xdvdmulleter or any other program to extract the SS, and run Kreon Checker (compliments of #Stealth360 on efnet) on the SS, it will tell you whether it is a good or bad kreon rip. We are trying to verify that everyone who was banned had a bad kreon SS. As we find out more, the xdvdmulleter database will be updated to fix any bad Security Sectors on specific games. |
Scary amount of releases been verified in the forums , Wonder if the ban hammer will hit tommorrow , I know I'll be hit if this theory is true

now do i buy a new xbox360 if I get banned or just get COD4 for the PS3 to still play online (bout the only game worth playing online, everything else now seems meh!, COD4 has seriously raised the bar on multi)

Well if you already have a PS3 you might aswell get it for that.

bought CoD4 the other day just for multi, without checking whether i was banned from the round of bannings and YAY, still not banned. CoD4 rocks my socks online, only game worth it.
I play all my copies on a seperate Offline gamertag and only use my Live account with originals.

The problem is related to disc jitter and reads of the SS. The 360 measures the angle of the disc which is part of the SS, and of course an angle can be 360 degrees. That means valid values are 0-359 and then you cycle to 0 again. Factor in disc jitter, and if it jitters too far, the disc angle value could go from 359 to 0. The problem is that the iXtreme firmware was not coded with this in mind and instead bumps it to 360 without cycling around, which means the value it reports is invalid. This apparently became an issue with newer discs (around Halo 3) which started using values in the range that might jitter > 359.
If all of the above is true, then failing Kreon Checker isn't necessarily "bad" but rather just a warning that the disc angle is within tolerance of generating a potentially bad value. And the fix will be an updated iXtreme firmware, which C4Eva is supposedly now working on. So don't play "bad" games in the meantime. Games which pass Kreon Checker should be ok, but use your head. I think I'll personally hold off playing until the new firmware is released. |

i made a new account but when i shall accept or decline the terms of use bla bla bla.. it just freezes there.. same problem? i know my connection work.. anyone know why i cant login? its when the read me rules thing comes up... thnx in advance.. MiB

I am still fine on my end.
I always remove games from the drive before connecting to live.
I am also not a multiplayer fan at all so that has never been an issue.
So far so good; but I new the minute I modded my firmware it could happen, so now if it happened it wouldnt be a big deal to me anyway. I figure one of these days MS will figure out how to detect the firmware if not stealthed.
