|
 |
Hello all
I have a problem with a nieuw wii with 3.1E fw inside.
I soldered a wiikey clone inside and booted with the 1.2 setup disk
Then I get the message that the disk willl not boot
So I read a lot by google how to get it to work
But nothing will work ( GCOS_1.3_Config-PAL and wkupdate.1.9b.recover )
Both the DVD's do nothing , burned 4 speed .
How do I get the wiikey clone to install the fw ???
TIA
Fred

What's the dvd drive chipset ?
If it's 'D2C' then nothing other than a 31 wire D2CKey will work on it.
If it's a dmc/d2/d2b then do you get a 'gamecube' logo on the disc channel when inserting a wiikey config disc for example ?

Thks for the replays
The Wii plays originals thats not the problem .
Its also not the D2C chip but the D2B with the pins not cut off ( so the easy one )
The problem is that I can not get the chip fw installed .
So thats why it will only plays originals .
I tryed boot disks and so on , but NO reading the disk .
In the Wii menu the fw disk sees the GC disk but when I whant to play it it tels me wrong disk .
I have 1 chip with fw installed but thats not the point , so I can get it to work .
But I whant/need to do it this way .
So when I get another Wii with 3.1E fw I know how it works .

Try the gcos version of the config disc, you will need a GC controller. (search you should find it)
If you have no GC controller then you will need to hex-edit the iso to make a 'pre boot' disc.
This is all to get round the wii firmware 3.x GC lockout. When you update the firmware on the wiikey and have 'region override' set to 'on' with a config disc, the wiikey can deal with the lockout by itself.
The fact that you get the GC logo in the disc channel with a config disc inserted meand the chip is most likely installed correctly.

Thks slenoj
I have donwloaded some GCOS disks but I dont get them to work ?
Burned with Nero and imgburn at 4 speed .
I have inserted it and then boot up the Wii -- No working I think
I cant see nothing , disk is not been seen in de Wii
It spins for 3 sec and thats it .
How do you boot up the GCOS disk ?? I have a GC controller btw
And what do you see when the disk is booting up ?
btw I have installed the wiikey ( clones ) lots off time so I know what im am doing .
The only problem is the 3.1E versions I cant get them to work .
Only with a wiikey ( clone ) with FW on it bij another Wii with other FW
TIA

You could try making a 'pre boot disc'
see post #161 on this thread hxxp://psx-scene.com/forums/wiikey/59732-wiikey-config-disk-1-3-released-7.html
ammend the instructions for your region and possibly use the 1.2 config disc first, rather than the 1.3 untill you get the firmware upgraded
or if your on PAL i've uploaded this pre-boot disc for you (i used it when i first installed my clone)
... hxxp://www.evilshare.com/e7877a96-ebb4-102a-a517-00a0c993e9d6
just boot with this, with gc controller plugged in, when it gets to the menu, swap out the disc for what you want, wait 10 secs for disc to be recognised, then choose the boot option on the menu and choose the .dol file.
edit.. personally i just burnt the ISO's as they came with imgburn on dvd-rewritables, i didn't have to use padding or anything
