Who cares as long as the movie's good? A lot of awesome movies deviate from books (characters get to live or to die etc.) but no one whines. Asking for a 1:1 adaptation is just stupid - who'd want to see that? We had four games about it.

The simple goddamn point being was; the movie deviates from the whole Hitman concept. It might be silly man with bar code on his neck guns blazing through a bunch of bullshit. Just another videogame adaption gone to shit.

What do you expect?! Just be thankfull Uwe Boll is not directing it. If it was the case, Agent 47 would probably be a robot send from mars

Its a question about quality... This sure looks like hollywood all over again. The hitman series has its own atmosphere and way to play things if they just managed to pull that over to this adaption then they had both something the fans and the "newcomers" would enjoy.
And why they didnt hire David Bateson still amazes me... goddamn hollywood.

Why would a game atmosphere translate perfectly to big screen? Who said that?
And the idea of a clone army is as stupid and old as the raised-by-church assassin.
We just don't want to admit it because it's a PC game, it's 'part of our world' and we protect it subconsciously by slamming the movie.

P.S. Btw it's Europe all over, not Hollywood just check the credits.

Didn't they model Agent 47 by scratch from the real-life David Bateson?

The cutting edge Jesper Kyd ost and its mystique on Diana & 47's discovering his past fitted in with different locations around the world would have served its purpose to deliver some kind of reminiscent to the games, they even could scratch out the above if they still created the character as a cold blooded killer but instead makes him a hero which ultimately kills the whole meaning to adopt the game.

What? I see no problem delivering video games on to the big screen, but when you take everything away from the license and make it a common action flick then its misused and should never be filmed.

Europe are perfectly capable to deliver a Hollywized action films, in fact its a threatening threat to the glory of filmmaking these days.

Not asking for a 1:1 adaptation, just asking for a mere similarity between the two universes - otherwise what is the point in calling it Hitman?

Absolute bullshit to think that everyone is the same here. It's not only a shitty videogame adaptation, the movie is crap in it's own respect as well.

Fox Yanks HIT MAN From Director Xavier Gens

While there has been no official word on this so far I’m hearing it from enough sources very close to the film itself and the principals involved that I’m quite confident reporting it as fact. Word is out that Fox has yanked control of upcoming video game adaptation away from director Xavier Gens. This happens from time to time if a director turns in weak footage but that is not the case here. After being hired to shoot an adaptation of the ultra-violent video game Gens took Asian action films such as The Killer and A Bittersweet Life as his starting point and turned in an explicitly violent, very bloody cut of the film that apparently included a number of head shots and extreme gore moments that would have guaranteed the film a hard R rating. Which really shouldn’t have been any sort of surprise if the studio execs had been paying any attention at all - it’s not like they wouldn’t have seen the dailies or effects work ahead of time - but apparently after seeing Gens’ cut of the film the studio removed him from the project and placed Nicolas De Toth in control of a new edit of the film. Who’s De Toth? He’s the man behind the edit of Live Free Or Die Hard, a job he was hired for specifically to turn in an entirely bloodless version of the film and word is that this is his task with Hit Man as well. So what are we going to get? A bloodless version of the film assembled with no input whatsoever from Gens. Very sad considering just how promising the trailers have been so far.

lol another pg-13 craptastic movie
gotta wait for the unrated extended director's cut then which will be out one year after the unrated cut which will be out 6 months after the theatrical cut Wink
I'm so glad I don't buy any more movies...leeching ftw
The industry seems to want it...5 years ago I was buying shitloads of dvds, now 40% of them are already inferior versions.

Studio sources confirmed that De Toth has been hired as an editor, but not "controlling the project" as TwitchFilms stated. We were informed, "Director Xavier Gens is still working on the film. The film still has intense action and will definitely be rated 'R.'" Our source strongly denied that Fox is softening the final cut and called the original report untrue. They emphasized that it will still be a true "R" and a not a "bloodless version".

whatever this is going to mean for the movie...

They got a bunch of actors from our favorite series in Hitman:

Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) from Lost

Mr. Bennet (Jack Coleman) from Heroes

T-Bag (Robert Knepper) from Prison Break

And finally here's the track that's won the contest for the movie title song:

dear lord, that's awful
why do they always pick the most predictable teen metal bullshit song when they throw these theme contests
like limp bitchshit for M:I3
they should have kept the original composer and given him a proper orchestra and some other experienced film composers to help
clint mansell or craig armstrong who have done similiar styles

Not a single word about it as a movie in the 'review'. Just some pseudo-patriotic yapping about how russians and russia are portrayed in it.
