Wasn't aware it could get better than SP2. I mean, I cut it down to 14 processes/89 MB of mem, which on a 2 GB Dual core is overkill Laughing

EDIT

Apparently you can hack windows update to get SP3 RC1, not full SP3. Pretty cool, still Cool

I'm sure the retarded VISTA-lovers will make up some idiotic excuse about how VISTA is so much better while still performing slower. xD (they're kinda like mac-owners that way)

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

dx10 can never work in xp its actualy imposable you can software emulated but that would just suck. if they implemeted dx 10 in xp they have to patch you copy of xp to vista witch would then suck cause it be realy realy slow i know. i used vista all year and the extra dx 10 visuals just arnt worth the loss of performance. of course if i had 5k to spend a year on a pc i would use vista too like all those people that say it runs great on there sweet ass fucking pc's

That's what I'm thinking... It can't hurt... In the worst case scenario I'll have to reinstall windows (that will be the first time... NOT!) Smile

I'm happy with sp2.
Looking at the graph from here
http://www.techpowerup.com/?45378
Sp2 has a better performance gain.
Unless lower is better?

Office..what? Office who? Oh right, Officebench. The definitive analysis tool Rolling Eyes

Pointless I know, but for a laugh (pretending all hardware tested was equal), let's run this Officebench benchmarking tool on a Vista x64 Enterprise install that has the latest drivers, OS patches, Office 2007 SP1 and all run on some semi-modern hardware. For those mentally challenged, Officebench is measured in seconds, so less time is better ...

For my hardware, I'm more than happy with Vista's performance, in every single aspect of it's use.

Flame away Vista-haters ...

Well, not everybody can afford that semi-modern hardware which means potential hardware compatibility issues will exist. Also not all software is compatible with Vista either.

Please... Only really old stuff from ca. 2003-2004 has some issues with Vista, and even that is when it wasn't written properly for XP.
