Eh?
This game was AWESOME the last time I tried the pre-demo that was 'unintentionally' released. You'll have to bear in mind that it's a simulation akin, to Grand Prix Legends & lately Richard Burns Rally so it's going to need a steering wheel, pedals and force feedback if you want to truly enjoy what the game has to offer.
I remember hearing a lot of guff and criticism aimed at RBR and I just couldn't understand it until I finally got to play the game. Which was amazing btw. The simple fact is some people like these simulations, and others don't - and equipment like steering wheels may be the key factor I don't know.
Anyway I haven't tried the new demo but I will be downloading this and telling you what I think soon as I can - another thing to bear in mind is that this game is all about fast, powerful and unstable vehicles.
It's going to take some practice to get used to what your handling, in the same way it took some time to get used to Richard Burns Rally.
But once you find that 'zone' it's plain sailing as far as fustration is concerned and you'll just be concentrating on the game itself!
...don't be put off.
**EDIT**
On closer inspection this demo seems to be leaked or some such, or at the very least it's causing a huge amount of controversy and doesn't have the sim mode included this time.
Give it a wide berth until the dust has settled, especially at 200MB :O

I have no probs with the game in XP, but ontopic:
I like the game very much can't wait to play the whole version.
And what Ispep said, it's a simulator so should be hard to handle.
Cuz if it was easy every1 could be a pro race driver
For ppl who like race sims you should take a look at this game:
Live For Speed
In the end of this year LFS S2 should be released

I downloaded the demo but found out its starforce 3 and I'm thinking twice about installing it. I really dont like that shit on my pc but why the hell do they have to put it on a demo?

Not soon enough - though someone above said the end of this year but I don't know about that myself, as there wasn't a release date last I checked.
