I have had problems with my new rig form the start. It started with quick freezes and stuff like that. Then i got irql_not_less_or_equal error a lot.

I did a format, but the problems didnt go away. I just got more of them. Windows got all fucked up and I started getting tihs error: pic and screen went like that: pic. Windows firewall stopped working and automatic updates stopped working too.

I did another format. Everything seemed fine, but i accidentally removed gygabite raid configurer which fucked up many drivers. I did a system restore and it was fine for a bit, but then i started getting driver_irql_not_less_or_equal bsod.
Here's the text in it:

STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x000000x0, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xaf4ba36b)
wind502u.sys - address af4ba36b base at af482000, datestamp 406329d2

wind502.sys is my wireless usb adapter driver.

The stuttering and freezing came back too. It's mostly noticable when playing games, listening to music or watching videos. Sound goes all wacky and buzzy.
Here is my Everest report if u want it: http://www.speedyshare.com/559562864.html
Two things are wrong there: i have put cpu on stock settings and i have removed one 1gb ram.
All help is welcome.

Do all STOP errors point to the wireless driver? If so disable/remove that. If not it's mainboard, processor or memory. Keep switching stuff until you know which.

RAM ISSUE!

99% of the time anyway.. as Rinze suggests, try getting rid of the wireless (turn it off in the BIOS if it is onboard).

I've seen these STOP errors on a system with a powersupply that turned out to be too weak for the system, that might also be the cause

If you google the name of that driver file then you'll see more people with blue screen problems. So you could try getting updated drivers for it from Asus or if that don't work then try what's already been suggested.

Although there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the screenshot you posted. That could be some monitor issue.

Also considering the fact that you have overclocked your board, it might not be a driver issue at all. Have you tested the oc for stability? It just might be some component that's not happy Razz at that speed. Try setting your other bus speeds to fixed.

And if I had a dollar (sorry euro) for every time I see someone with a 32-bit system with 4 gigs of memory I would be a rich person.Very Happy

You can use them "properly" with the /3GB switch under xp, under vista you have to use increaseuserva, e.g. "BCDEDIT /set increaseuserva 3072" if you have 4GB and want 3 of them allocated to the apps, the remaining 1GB being reserved for the OS.

I have 3gb ram now. My cpu isn\t overclocked anymore and everytime i get wind502.sys error. I know its my wireless adapter but i dont want to disable it. I need to use the internet. These are the newest drivers. My PSU is 620W chieftech. I've tested my ram already and it was fine. Only person I've seen with the same error was a some German guy in a German forum.

you can always try reinstalling windows. helps with weird driver issues.

these irql_not_less_or_equal things are a pain to pin down. the cause can really be anything.
Hell, I just had one of those bluescreens yesterday for no apparent reason. my hardware is fine, and everything worked fine before and after the bluescreen.

I really should read better.

You don't get any crashes without the adapter? If so, then there really isn't much you can do short of writing your own driver.

@sensi

Not many people go to the extent of modifying boot.ini file.

I get this "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" when I unplug and plug back either my USB mouse or USB keyboard. It started happening when I upgraded my PC but didn't reinstall XP (kept old installation and just installed new drivers).

i have formated about 4-5 times already. It doesnt help. I'm gonna try using my computer without internet connection for a while and see what happens.
I got no errors when i unplugged the adapter. Connected it back in and reinstalled the drivers. Things have been almost okay. Only had one little freeze.
