					| |
					| I just hooked up my 360 via the WLAN adaptor and i can see all my content on for example my D: drive via Windows Media Center. But as soon as I hit play on a film the whole application freezes up. Do i need to open some ports on the router for this to work or?. Or is it some other reason...All the films that I try to play works on my PC when I try to play them in WMC...any ideas? | |

					| Its not the ports thats for sure as I can play the sample vids from VISTA no prob. Its something else that makes the films to freeze. I tried AVI and Xvid so far and its always freezeing as soon as I hit play. I can see pics and what have you from my hard drives on the PC...just freezes when I click a film. | |

					| You need a transcoder to convert the films to a playable format for the 360 in realtime. You could use TVersity (Google it, first hit is it). Or wait a few days for DivX and XviD support.

					| I used TVersity for almost two years ago (1½ atleast), and even then it worked considerably good.
What it does it convert your divx/xvids on-the-fly to wmv while you stream it to the 360 (since it only plays wmvs). And shows up in the dashboard as a standard internet-stream.

My guess is that it has come a long way since then since i just tried it out.

you gotta wait for the new release to be able to play most of the avis. currenlty the 360 doesn't support a bunch of codecs most shit is ripped in.

tversity will do that. it's fairly decent and does the job.

just wait for the new update and you'll have your divx/xvid.

					| Cheers Mortibus I will look in to that
But for the time being I am having some serious probs with TVersity.
I can get the connection with my PC going etc. I also could see my files when sharing Media Player ect. But as you are supposed to turn sharing off for MP when using TVersity I did that. And now I only get this

   Its in German and says

 -Lan Adaptor=Wireless (USB)
 - Wireless Network =Connected
 -IP Address=Confirmed
 -Selected PC=Connected
 -PC Connection= ERROR!!!!!

That last point is my prob, WTF, It won't find TVversity or even my PC now. It did when I was sharing in Media Player 11...

Need some hard advice from some veteran TVersity users here...pronto please

PS, Opened all firewall ports etc, at least from what i gathered reading the FAQ on TVersity's homepage.

 Cheers guys

 EDIT!: Another question here...
As my Xbox was Soft modded when I bought it (did not do it myself) If I run the Update, will the soft mod still work?, or do I need to do it myself to be able to play Dled games etc.
If so please post some links or a tut as to what to do here. Never really tinkered much with the 360 until now...sort a left that to my son

 Again Cheers!
