phew, just kicked javeds ass... spent most of the fight on my ass though, or watching a blurry screen, but i got there in the end on my first try punk ass bitch thought he could take me.. pfff

actually geralt hardly swears, that quotes from a boxer, and we all know about THAT sort...  , and the amount of fuckin' he does in the game reflects purely on the person playing the game... THATS whats so great about this, while you play, YOU are defining the type of person geralt is, because he has no identity at the beginning... i dont think 'kids' well stick with it, because you cant shoot cops and steal cars, and it takes too long to get in to (you know kids and their attention spans these days eh... typical... nothing a good beating wouldnt solve )
i finished the game yesterday, and recorded the bulk of ending - all the important ending dialogue and sequences that I got (endings + sequences are different for people depending on the choices they make) - the video will be about an hour long, featuring the sub boss battle (all 3 parts), returning to tell the king whats happened, the monster boss fight in the sewers, reaching the main boss, and the ENTIRE final sequence of fights that lead UP to the final boss fight (im trying to be ambiguous for those who havent finished the game yet ) - also the ending sequence that my choices led too, and the closing cgi sequence (FUCKING awesome, sets up a second game and i cant fucking wait!!) - all up, its about an HOUR long the video so far - im going to upload it to youtube in 10 minute chunks (*groan...*) and also upload the full joined video somewhere @ the 600x400 res i recorded it at - if anyones interested who has finished it, or doesnt intend to play it, lemme know.
oh, i should say i played the game supporting the order.
great game, after i finish crysis and maybe gears of war, ill play witcher again, making different choices

BlueSkyz, they quote the swearing in almost every review of The witcher, so I guess those are all kid's reviews, right?
Besides, like chiv said it's your choice what you do, keeping your pants zipped up , if that's what you would do in real life

You are so ignorant and naive. According to you for kids killing in game monsters and in game people, causing in game pain and misery is ok, but hearing a word "fuck" from the game is so very bad? Whatever the case maybe this game is not for kids.

i think you guys are taking his comments a little too far... besides i think its all already been covered... im doing a test encode of my video - its almost done. if it all looks in order, ill be able to upload it tomorrow or the day after, so anyone who wants to see the kind of dialogue/story etc, will have something pretty full on to watch, as long as they dont mind spoilers

Has anyone had any success with the Russian crack in 32bit Vista? Everything works great for me up until I try to create a new game or load a saved game - I get the loading splash screen but it just sits there, no red loading bar etc and does nothing (it loaded just fine one time).
I'm hoping that the new patch gets properly cracked, I'm not interested in messing around with clone BS.

I have just finished the game and i have some questions (spoiler inside) !!!
 Spoiler: | During the whole game, i tried to remain neutral (between the humans and non-humans as much as possible
At the end, i helped the king Foltest to defeat the Order and its mutants and i finally killed Jacob Aidersberg.
Is it true that the final endings are not much different if you replay the game by helping the non-humans and does someone know who is the guy at the end who tried to kill Foltest ?
Has someone lived a very different experience in this game and is it worth replaying it ?

which is why recognition is on both faces, and whats so fucking cool about the ending and sets up a wicked storyline for the sequel that i cant wait to play.
| Spoiler: | i also wonder if alvin is actually the grand master... i know it was portrayed that way, and it seemed obvious that it WAS him, because the grand master was away for most of the game, and it was only after alvin dissapeared that he 'came back', and the amulet was a pretty obvious clue, as well as his powers and visions... they were either the same person, or the same type of person... plus during your conversation with alvin, it seemed pretty obvious that the only option alvin liked in the 'i want to be a witcher' conversation, is the suggestion he become a knight-witcher... it could be misdirection though, wouldnt be the first time... fucking great story.
i recorded the final important conversations and battles from javed onwards, so im going to rewatch them and see if anything stands out that i might have missed - i could have sworn jacques said something like elves were a relic that refused to evolve or something to that effect, which is what i told alvin, and jacques also said that geralt always said to use ones abilities for nobel causes, which is what i also told alvin earlier in the game, so im wondering if your conversations with jacques reflect things you told alvin in the game? or maybe its just a huge fluke that things ive said reflect the default ending everyone gets misdirection or not, its a seriously fricken cool plot concept... ARRRRGHHHH fucking love this game cant wait to play it again in a month or soooooooooooo!!!!!
and yes the choices you make in the game do give different options, especially id imagine in the bit just before teh closing cgi, and no doubt reflect conversations that you have at times throughout the game, especially with javed... |

1eyedking announced in our forum that he managed to unlock the original, uncut version of the English-language dialogues in The Witcher (which were butchered by Atari in the released version). Here's a step-by-step instruction how to do it:
1. Open Windows's Registry Editor (Start->Run->type "regedit"). Navigate towards 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECD Projekt RedThe Witcher' . Double-click the 'Language' tab. Enter '1' in 'Value Data' without the commas. Close the Editor (it saves the changes automatically).
2. Go to your Witcher's Data folder inside the directory where you installed the game.
3. Rename 'lang_3.key' to 'lang_1.key'.
4. Rename 'dialog_3.tlk' to 'dialog_1.tlk'.
5. DO NOT rename anything else. The game will still look inside voices_3_00.bif to get the dialogue wave files, for example.
